The Westgate Resort Cocoa Beach Review
This review is in partnership with Westgate Resorts. Our family was given a complimentary stay, but all opinions are my own and genuinely reflect my true feelings.
Located just an hour and half from the central Florida theme parks, Orlando’s closest beach destination is the city of Cocoa Beach. Situated along the space coast, the area combines a local beach vibe that isn’t overbuilt alongside the exciting work of NASA with the Kennedy Space Center launches. If you’re looking for a family-friendly beach vacation, stay centrally located to the action with The Westgate Cocoa Beach Resort.
The Westgate Resort Cocoa Beach: Made For Families
The Perfect Location
The number one reason why you should consider the Westgate Resort Cocoa Beach, is all about the location. Since it is Orlando’s closest beach, it’s centrally located to the theme parks and the resort sits directly on the beach.
It’s also the perfect option to book pre or post cruise, when you’re traveling from Port Canaveral. It’s minutes away from the port and the Kennedy Space Center. You can even bookend your cruise with stays at the Westgate Cocoa Beach for the ultimate in relaxation.
Large Suites With Full Kitchens
The spacious suites are perfect for larger families or guests who need the kitchen. We found the suites to be extremely comfortable as a family of four – with room for more. You can also book connecting suites.
Resort Amenities To Entertain The Whole Family
One of the biggest highlights, for my kids, is the resort pool area. With three divided areas, they’ve got something for everyone. There’s a lazy river, splash pad and traditional deep-end pool. I really appreciate a great splash pad, so I can kick back while my kids play.
They also offer kid’s activities all day long around the pool. From games to crafts, they’ve got it covered. Plus, in the evenings on certain days of the week, they do a movie by the pool.
Of course no pool day would be complete without a cocktail to sip on. The Westgate Cocoa Beach Resort has a tiki bar that serves cocktails and lunch offerings – for the perfect poolside treat.
If you’re more interested in a lazy beach day, you’ll want to reserve one of their covered beach chair areas for the family. For $10/hour or $25/day, guests can enjoy benefits that come alongside the chairs: sunglass cleaning, speakers, sun lotion and beach toys. Guests can also rent bikes or book surf lessons through the resort.
The Westgate Cocoa Beach Pier Experience
Resorts guests have access to a trolley that runs all day between the Westgate Cocoa Beach Pier and the resort property. The pier is a bustling hub for both locals and tourists. The Rikki Tiki Tavern offers 360º views from the tip of the pier along with appetizers and tropical concoctions.
Enjoy the sunset and escape the Florida heat when you dine at Pelican’s Bar & Grill. The family-friendly restaurant offers a casual atmosphere and good eats. I highly recommend the lobster tacos or any other fresh seafood item.
Book Per Night Or Become An Owner
While you can certainly book The Westgate Cocoa Beach online, per night, there’s also the option of becoming a Westgate Resorts Owner. The Westgate brand offers the largest privately owned vacation ownership in the world. The Cocoa Beach location is one of their 28 properties.
If you fall in love with the Westgate hospitality and amenities, like we did, becoming an owner might be a great option for your family. It’s a great reason to come back year after year.
