If you’re a die-hard Chick-Fil-A fan, then you’ve got to experience Truett’s Grill. It’s one of their most unique dining experiences, with only four Truett’s Grill locations, and all located in Georgia. It’s a retro 1950’s style table-service restaurant, that pays homage to Truett Cathy’s love of transportation. With a model train chugging overhead, dine on southern favorites like cornbread, sweet potato soufflé and collard greens. The distinctive dining experience will have you feeling like you’ve stepped back in time, while you nosh on menu items that are way beyond the classic Chick-Fil-A menu.
How Truett’s Grill Got Started
Truett Cathy was always working at re-inventing the classic Chick-Fil-A restaurant with refreshed ideas. Truett’s Grill celebrated his 50 years of work in the restaurant industry. The first Truett’s Grill opened in 1996 in Morrow, Georgia. He wanted to celebrate his early restaurant days, the beginning history of Chick-Fil-A and his love of transportation. The restaurant is named after him and carries on his personal legacy.
One of his last projects, Truett’s Luau, is a one-of-a-kind Hawaiian Chick-Fil-A location. There’s only one and that’s in Fayetteville, Georgia. Truett’s Grill and Truett’s Luau are worth visiting at least once if you’re a fan of the fast food chain. Plus, there’s also the Chick-Fil-A Home Tour where you can see Truett’s personal office, his car collection, and the Chick-Fil-A headquarters.

Chick-Fil-A History For Big Fans
When you’re dining at the grill, make sure to take a look around you. The decor is a tribute to the history of the company and it also showcases Truett’s love for transportation. Articles, photos and the table designs all represent his early days. One of my favorite walls shows how the Chick-Fil-A logo transformed and changed over the years, with each update! I think I find something new every time I visit.
Most Unique Truett’s Grill Menu Items
My favorite perk of dining at Truett’s is the all-day breakfast menu. Some of the breakfast items are available any time. Don’t forget to flip that menu and check when you’re dining for lunch or dinner. Popular menu items include the Chicken and Waffles, Hot Brown (made with CFA chicken breast instead of the classic turkey), and the Loaded Southern Chick-Fil-A Waffle Fries which stacks like nachos!
I love the Vegetable Plate! It’s not as healthy as it sounds. The Sweet Potato Soufflé is amazingly rich and thick, with a brown sugar oat crumble on top. Macaroni and Cheese also counts as a vegetable!
Seasonal menu items are introduced quarterly, like Strawberry Rhubarb Fried Pie, Banana Pudding or Blackberry Fried Pie. I find the wait staff very knowledgeable about all of the fun Truett’s Grill hacks to try. They load me up with extra pimento cheese sauce when I visit! Just ask what they recommend.
Truett’s Grill Menu Pricing
Salads are the highest priced items, just under $17 USD. Most menu items range from $11-$15 USD. I think the size of the entrees are very generous for the prices. I dine at our local grill regularly and I’m taking home food usually. Ask for a to-go drink and they’ll hook you up!
My kids prefer to order from the regular Chick-Fil-A menu. Any of the classic Chick-Fil-A menu items can be ordered from the table service side, too.
Can You Use Chick-Fil-A Points At Truett’s Grill?
If you use the Chick-Fil-A app, you’re probably familiar with the point system. When you’re dining at the Grill, you cannot redeem points for menu items. This might be because of the unique menu items and the different type of service (table vs. walk up or drive through). However, you can collect point!
Use your Truett’s Grill receipt to collect points on your Chick-Fil-A app. Fill out the information as a “missed transaction” and collect points. Receipts can also have the random surveys to fill out in exchange for a free Chick-Fil-A sandwich. Even if you go to buy souvenirs, you can collect points!
Truett’s Grill Souvenirs
You can’t leave without a souvenir! The grill offers specialty t-shirts, stickers and canvas bags available for purchase. The designs are cute and typically include a nod, in the design, to the state of Georgia or his love of transportation. They also include the city name of the Truett’s that you stopped at! They make such a great gift, too.
