Atlanta is synonymous for certain brands that we love and Chick-Fil-A is one of them. Technically, this tour is in Hapeville and not in Atlanta city limits. However, it’s so close that if you’re visiting the city, you want to add this tour to your bucket list. Carve out a half day and learn how Georgia’s famous fast food brand got their start.

Visiting Atlanta and want all the details? I’ve got even more destination guides to help you carve an itinerary:

Everything You Need To Know About The Chick-Fil-A Home Tour

Truett Cathy, the Founder of Chick-Fil-A, was a man who started his business from scratch and believed in his faith. He was born a natural leader and entrepreneur. On the tour, guests can see how Truett went from an ambitious eight-year-old boy selling Coca-Cola bottles to growing the most successful chicken restaurant chains in the United States. It all started in Atlanta too!

What You’ll Experience On The Chick-Fil-A Headquarters Tour

Every tour guide has a vast knowledge of the company’s history timeline and insight to the business practices (and failures) that led to Truett’s success. While the Atlanta headquarters has grown immensely since the beginning days, guests can still get a great sense of who Truett was and the early business models.

Guests can walk into Truett’s office and see how it was arranged when he was working. From family mementos to photos of Truett alongside diplomats, you’ll really see the stories behind the man who started Chick-Fil-A. One thing that holds true throughout the tour is that you can really see his values shine.

Guests can experience a full-size model of the first Chick-Fil-A and see what the menu looked like in the beginning days. Take photos of Truett Cathy’s personal automobile collection, which includes one of the few original Batmobiles.

Did you know that Truett Cathy loved cars? Actually all forms of transportation!

On the two hour tour, guests can see firsthand where all of their recipes are developed. The test kitchens have special viewing areas where you can see them working with fresh ingredients, while other employees test restaurant concepts for the best efficiency.

From beginning to end, you’ll see how Chick-Fil-A came to be what it is today. You’ll also be touring alongside the offices in the Atlanta headquarters. It’s fascinating to see the employees working diligently and hear their passion for the brand. Many corporate employees started out at one of the restaurant locations and worked their way up the ladder.

What To Know Before Your Chick-Fil-A Home Tour

There are two different tours that you can sign up for: the one-hour tour and the two-hour tour. The longer tour allows guests to see more modern-day workings (like the test kitchens) of the company, while the one-hour tour is more of the backstory.

You’ll want to be prepared by wearing comfortable clothing and closed-toe sneakers. They do have a shuttle that’ll transfer guests from the different building locations, but nonetheless there’s plenty of walking too. Guests must arrive 15 minutes prior to their tour start time.

Tickets can be purchased online. They cost $10 per person for the one-hour tour and $20 per person for the two-hour tour. Yes – you’ll be given a small sample of a Chick-Fil-A menu item. However, do not expect a full meal or somewhere to order.

You’ll be assigned to a group of 20 – 25 people. Bring your camera or a backup phone charger. There are certain areas where photos are not allowed and tour guides will remind you.
