Snowland: Must-Do Great Wolf Lodge Christmas Event

Looking for a Christmas family getaway that’s magical and fun for all ages? You’ve got to check out the Great Wolf Lodge Christmas event – Snowland! December through early January, guests can book a stay that feels like they’re immersed in a winter wonderland. You’ll still get all of the amazing amenities that come with a GWL vacation, but a touch of holiday magic on top.

Our family loves a Great Wolf Lodge trip, and our little ones beg to go again as soon as we get home. My kids love the Build-A-Bear Workshop (which is part of the pup pass), and I love a Great Wolf Lodge cabana rental all to myself. A Christmastime experience just sounds even more fun.

What is Snowland at Great Wolf Lodge?

A Great Wolf Lodge Christmas is even more special than a normal GWL trip. It’s one of their most highly anticipated events of the year. The Snowland celebration is a resort overlay that turns GWL into a winter wonderland. Yes – you can STILL splash around in the indoor waterpark (which is open all year long), but Snowland makes your holiday dreams come true.

From Nov. 24 through Jan. 8, families will be immersed in a winter wonderland, with daily snow showers, visits from Santa, seasonally themed crafts, holiday stories and songs, and a variety of other festive activities. The Grand Lobby is home to the nightly Snowfall Celebration, an interactive show that provides plenty of holiday joy as families gather to ring jingle bells, sing seasonal melodies, and participate in a festive dance party to conjure magical snow flurries. Guests can also capture their memories at Snowland Selfie Stations in the Grand Lobby with various props to help create a festive family photo.

One of the most popular parts of Snowland is the life-sized gingerbread house. The house is made from gingerbread baked right inside the Lodge. It is adorned with cookies, candies, and over 50 pounds of Peeps!

What’s Included In Great Wolf Lodge Snowland

Families can enjoy daily snow showers in the Grand Lobby, seasonally themed crafts, holiday stories, and songs. Plus, there are some special Christmas goodies available as part of the Great Wolf Lodge food options.

Just like Howl-O-Ween, these resort details are included with your stay! Just book your family GWL vacation, and you can check the event calendar when you check in. Snowland events happen all day long, and families can easily take advantage of them on top of the regularly offered amenities.

Programming and activity highlights include:

  • “Twas the Night Before Snowland” Yoga Tails – Start your day with a flex and stretch in our fun-filled yoga class that celebrates the holiday season.
  • Seasonal Games – Make merry with a round of Bingo, learn the reasons for the season with our holiday Trivia, or see if you can create the ultimate wonderland experience by completing the Great Wolf Lodge Snowland Scavenger Hunt.
  • Visits with Santa – Don’t forget to bring your list! From November 24 until December 23, there will be surprise visits from Santa himself.
  • Seasonal Crafts – Grab your family and prepare to get your creative juices flowing with a DIY jingle bell craft kit, color your own picture frame and make your own one-of-a-kind snowflake.
  • Frosty Fest Family Dance Party – Shake the snow off your shoes and have a holly jolly time boogying down at our joyous holiday dance party.

Snowland Activities That The Kids Will Love

As part of Snowland, children’s activities are included as part of an overnight stay. Kids can kick off their day with  “Twas the Night Before Snowland” Yoga Tails and conclude the evening with the Frosty Fest Family Dance Party.

Families can also enjoy Snowland Bingo, Trivia games, and the popular “Craft Kit to Go” program that gives guests the opportunity to pick up a craft to complete in-room.  Everywhere guests turn, there is the merriest of fun to be had at the lodge, including surprise visits by Santa himself.

Snowdomes at Snowland

Families visiting Great Wolf Lodge Pocono Mountains, Arizona, and Colorado Springs can experience a one-of-a-kind holiday experience this year with the debut of Snow Globes at Snowland.  These private holiday-themed globes immerse families in a seasonal experience filled with festive décor, dancing lights, sweet treats, and family fun.

Inside the Snow Globes, families will have their very own hot cocoa bar with all of the fixings, a cookie decorating kit, and a host of festive holiday games to enjoy. The highlight of the experience is a glittering 30-minute holiday light show that takes place inside of the Snow Globe – featuring hundreds of dancing lights choreographed to seasonal music.

While the entire Snowland experience kicks off Nov. 24, guests can get a jump start on the holiday festivities and begin enjoying the dazzling Snow Globes starting Nov. 17. Rates for the hour-long experience start at just $99 and include a keepsake Great Wolf Lodge ornament to help families remember this special experience forever.
