To me, cookie dough is irresistibly sweet and rich, with hints of brown sugar and vanilla that give it that classic, nostalgic taste. Cookie dough ice cream has that smooth, creamy texture ice cream base, mixed with little pockets of soft, bite-sized cookie dough pieces. If that’s your favorite ice cream flavor, you’re going to love this 4-Ingredient Frozen Cookie Dough Delight!
It’s an easy dessert, made with a Chips Ahoy Cookie crust base, a layer of cookie dough ice cream, and finished with a frozen whipped topping. I love keeping it in the freezer for any sweet craving or warm-weather occasion.

Why We Love This Dessert Recipe
Frozen delights are indulgent desserts, but easy to make. The buttery, crumbly cookie crust is such a delicious contrast against the ice cream and whipped topping. It’s the perfect dessert for those moments when you want something rich, refreshing, and delicious—all without turning on your oven. I keep it in the freezer and pull it out whenever we have an occasion for something sweet, which makes it the perfect make-ahead dessert.
I’m a big fan of frozen delight desserts. This is my cookie dough version, but I also have a Frozen Chocolate Delight! Check out Frozen Peppermint Delight and Frozen Eggnog Delight for the holiday season. By changing out the ingredients, you have an entirely new flavor palette to work with!

How To Store Leftovers
Keep the frozen delight in its 9×13-inch baking dish. It’s just the easiest! Keep the dessert in the back of the freezer, where temperatures are more stable. For the best freshness, enjoy this dessert within six months of making it. It’s the easiest dessert to pull out for any occasion and keep on hand. If you need to add fresh crumbled Chips Ahoy cookies on top, just crumble more before serving.
Recipe Variations
Mix up the type of whipped cream or ice cream. A chocolate-based cookie dough ice cream would be phenomenal or a chocolate whipped topping is another great option. The Chips Ahoy cookie base is amazing, but you could also do a graham cracker crust or use crushed Oreo cookies. Mix it up and play with the flavor combinations you love!
Frozen Cookie Dough Delight Ingredients:
- Chips Ahoy Cookies: the original crispy texture type
- Butter: salted or unsalted sweet cream butter works
- Cookie Dough Ice Cream: pick your favorite brand
- Frozen Whipped Topping: aka Cool Whip
How To Make Frozen Cookie Dough Delight
Make a space in your freezer for a 9×13 baking pan. Using a food processor, finely crush one package of cookies, pulsing about 10 times or until completely crushed. Add melted butter and process for five seconds.

Mix well with a spoon to make sure the cookies and butter are combined well. Pour into a 9×13 baking pan and using the back of the spoon, press the crust into the bottom of the pan. Pop the pan into the freezer for 10 mins.

Carefully spread about 1-1/2 tubs of ice cream onto the top of the crust. It helps to work in scoops, placing them on the crust and then pressing down, not really spreading out, but just placing scoops next to each other and then pressing them together to fill in all the spaces.

Top with whipped topping.

Coarsely crush 15 cookies using your hands and sprinkle on top of the whipped topping. Freeze for at least an hour before serving.
