The only kitchen tools you’ll need for this recipe are a medium-sized mixing bowl and a serving spoon. That’s partially why it’s such an easy go-to recipe. You don’t need much!

What To Serve With Baked Potato Dip

Here’s where you can really get creative. If you want the flavor of a traditional loaded baked potato, then I love making my Roasted Italian Steak Fries. They’re wedges of russet potatoes that are seasoned and baked in the oven until crispy on the outside.

Want something easy? Serve the dip with traditional potato chips or pretzels. I love pretzel twists for bite-sized mouthfuls and pretzel rods as a sturdy dipper.

If you want to get fancy, homemade kettle chips are a fabulous option if you have the time!

How To Keep Your Dip Fresh After Making

If you’re preparing your dip ahead of time, for a party, I like to make it directly in the serving bowl that I’m going to use. Cover the dip with plastic wrap and keep it in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.

For any leftovers, transfer the dip to an airtight food storage container. Keep the dip refrigerated. For best freshness, enjoy the dip within 4-5 days of making.

Can You Freeze This Dip?

No, I do not recommend freezing the dip. The sour cream contains a lot of water and the dip will change consistency. Toss the dip instead of freezing and whip up a new batch. Luckily, it only takes minutes to make some more!

Recipe Substitutions

Feel free to use reduced fat sour cream or add real bacon instead of bacon bits. I love making mine with real bacon that’s crumbled. Just be sure all of the fat is drained. Lastly, play with easy cheeses you like. Cheddar cheese is traditional for baked potatoes, but any shredded cheese will work!
