Baby’s First Haircut At Harmony Barber Shop
We just returned home from a whirlwind 2 day trip at Walt Disney World resort. It was a fantastic 1st trip for my son and the idea was to wet his feet before his upcoming 5 day trip in January. But we had one focus for this trip– get his 1st hair cut!
He’s almost 2 and we hadn’t cut his hair yet. Not kidding, It was beginning to look like a mop. We knew we wanted the 1st haircut experience at the Harmony Barber Shop and made the appointment months before our trip. It was very easy to call the WDW reservations line and have an appointment set up prior to our trip.
I love the vintage old-school nostalgic feeling that you get when you first walk into the Harmony Barber shop. Disney didn’t hold back in making it a special experience for our family. Even though they were very busy, we received excellent attention from Norma (our Barber). She made sure our wiggly toddler was kept occupied with an assortment of light up toys. I’ve never seen somebody cut hair with such skill on a moving child.
Norma gave me a keepsake locket of his first snip of hair. She also made sure to supply the tissues as happy tears streamed down my face.
Each child gets a certificate of completion and 1st Haircut Ears after completion. It was totally worth a 48-hr trip to Walt Disney World! It’s a great experience for the kids and the only tears were coming from the Moms!
Check out the details below to set up your child’s 1st haircut at Harmony Barber Shop in the Magic Kingdom:
-Call prior to your trip to ensure an appointment time. They do take walk-ins but there might be a wait. (407) 939-5277 is the WDW reservation line.
-The 1st Haircut experience costs $25 and includes the embroidered Mickey ears and certificate.
-Have your cameras ready to go, it didn’t take long at all.
