How To Make Pink Flamingo Cupcakes

You’ll need a few basic kitchen tools to make these cupcakes. To start, you’ll use a basic 12-count muffin tin and pink cupcake liners. This recipe does not use cake mix, so you’ll make a homemade cake batter using pink gel food coloring. Lastly, you’ll need piping bags with a star tip and Wilton Flamingo Icing Decorations to finish the cupcakes.

When To Make These Flamingo Cupcakes

I love these cupcakes for any spring or summer occasion! Another fun time to make them is for an “over the hill” party and flamingo the yard too. I make these as a summer BBQ dessert, for baby showers, tiki parties and bridals showers. They’re fun, cute and have a tropical vibe.

Recipe Variations To Consider

I love the pink cake base, but you can opt out of color and just use a vanilla cake base or switch the color entirely. Green cupcakes with a pink flamingo are super cute as well. How To Keep Your Cupcakes Fresh & Transport Them

Once your cupcakes have cooled, you want to keep them fresh with an airtight food storage container. I do not stack my cupcakes. If you’re traveling with the cupcakes, consider purchasing a cupcake transport container. The handle makes it so easy to take cupcakes to parties!

Can You Freeze Cupcakes?

Yes! I suggest removing the flamingo decorations and placing them in a separate plastic sandwich bag. The cupcakes and flamingo decorations can go into the back of the freezer – where temperatures are more stable. Freeze the cupcakes for up to 3 months. Let the cupcakes thaw on the countertop completely before enjoying again.
