How To Make A Watermelon Detox Drink

For this recipe, the only kitchen tools you’ll need is your blender and a fruit paring knife to cut the watermelon. It comes together in minutes and it’s a SUPER easy recipe.

Why We Love This Recipe For Summer Months

You can make a big batch of this drink and enjoy it on the go. There is nothing artificial in it, so you’re just receiving the natural detox benefits of watermelon. Since it’s natural, the kids will even love sipping on it. It only takes a few minutes to blend and it’s ready to go.

When I buy a watermelon, I cut it into large chunks to keep in the refrigerator. We use some for snacking and then I’ll use leftover watermelon for recipes. This drink is one of my favorites and my Fresh Watermelon Salsa recipe! There’s also a quick Watermelon Mint Salad you can make. I’ll also make Homemade Watermelon Running Chews for energy. Never waste any watermelon.

Tips For Buying A Fresh Watermelon

I like to buy firm, ripe watermelons that still have the seeds and, ideally, I try to buy organic because non-organic melons are often exposed to pesticides.

When you purchase watermelon, it lasts 5 days refrigerated, once cut. To you safely cut a whole watermelon, I recommend purchasing a kit that includes a watermelon slicer, corer and scoop. It makes the process quicker and less messy.

What Type Of Blender Is Best For This Drink

Make sure you’ve got a blender to process the ingredients, or food processor (if you don’t own a blender). I use my full-size Ninja Blender. The easiest way to take the drink on the go is to make it in a portable blender. I take my drink to the gym, on hikes or for any outdoor summer activity. It’s a great drink for the poolside and there’s no alcohol, so you don’t feel weighed down.

How To Keep Your Watermelon Detox Drink Fresh

After your drink is blended, store any leftovers in the refrigerator. The drink might naturally separate in the fridge and you’ll have to shake it or stir it to enjoy again. For best freshness, drink the Watermelon Detox Drink within 48 hours after blending.
