Gulf Shores is part of the Alabama Gulf Coast Region. It’s centrally located and within driving distance of major cities, like Birmingham, New Orleans, Tallahassee and Atlanta. It’s an easy drive for our family, who drove from Atlanta to The Beach Club in 5.5 hours.
As you drive into the resort, you’ll notice that it’s tucked away from the majority of touristy areas and off the beaten path. That’s one of the biggest reasons guests love The Beach Club. Fortunately, the resort offers so many on-site amenities so guests can check in and not have to worry about driving off-site.
The two closest airports are Pensacola International Airport (PNS), which is only an hour away from Gulf Shores, and Mobile Regional Airport (MOB), which is an hour-and-half away drive (or a ferry ride away). There is a daily resort parking fee, if you choose to drive rather than fly.

Download the app onto your smartphone before your stay. Guest can check into their stay, book spa services and bonfires, or check the daily resort activities. There’s also a resort map available, to easily locate everything your family needs.
White-Sand Beaches on The Gulf
Alabama Beaches are known for the powdery-white sand, which is made of fine quartz crystals. The sand is soft and cool to the touch, making it perfect for barefoot walks, sunbathing, and relaxing by the water. My kids can spend hours on the beach, just playing and building sand castles.

Fresh Seafood & On-Site Dining Options
There are five on-site dining options for guests to enjoy, from seasonal food trucks to upscale dining. As a busy mom, with three kids in tow, I appreciate how the dining options are spread across the resort and there’s always an option within walking distance.
There’s nothing better than a nice evening dinner, after a day on the beach. Coast is The Beach Club’s premier restaurant. Find fresh catch of the day, seafood classics, pastas and steaks. I ordered the sea scallops and they were delicious. The Peanut Butter Old-Fashioned is another menu recommendation that you can’t miss. Prices vary from $30 for chicken dishes to $50 for steaks, and market prices for the fresh catch.
Amenities Beyond The Beach
Beyond the beach, families have a variety of amenities to enjoy at the resort. There are five pools, including an indoor pool. Our vacation included some windy weather, and it was great to jump into the indoor pool when necessary. The main Clubhouse pool is most busy, but there’s a closer pool (within walking distance) to your condo tower.
The outdoor pools range from three to five feet in depth. There is also a children’s pool, and at one and a half feet deep it’s the perfect size for babies and toddlers. Guests can use the resort towels.
The main Clubhouse also offers family-friendly locker rooms, a fitness center and a fee-free arcade. Additionally, tennis courts, pickleball courts and basketball courts are on property, plus playground. Paved beginner-friendly walking trailheads are available for pedestrian traffic.
The Only Full-Service Spa in Gulf Shores, Alabama
The Spa & Salon at The Beach Club Resort offers the pampering touch that’s perfect for a relaxing vacation experience. Facials, massages, nail services and body wraps are just a few guest favorites on the spa menu. I recommend the Vitamin C facial, which is perfect for any skin type and leaves you with dewy skin. The spa’s experienced aestheticians can pair spa services to meet your rejuvenation needs. I recommend arriving early to appointment to take advantage of the spa’s relaxation room.

My kids love the Gulf State Park Nature Center, where guests can see reptiles up-close.
