Somewhere between watching my kids splash in the pool and our third round of mini golf, I realized how important vacations are for my family. We reconnect, de-stress and make memories that are more valuable than any toy I could buy them. During our recent stay at the Sheraton Vistana Resort Orlando, I found our “home away from home” and the ideal vacation experience that fits our family.
With an infant, preschooler and tween, it can be difficult to keep everyone happy. Their age spread often leads to one being bored or left out during vacation. While the Orlando theme parks are only a shuttle ride away, we discovered there are plenty of on-site activities to keep the whole family happy.

Sheraton Vistana Resort Orlando Review
There are so many reasons why families pick Sheraton Vistana as their Orlando choice of where to stay. It’s minutes from the theme parks, offers space for bigger families without theme park property prices and it’s part of the Marriott family. That means you can expect the Marriott level of service when you stay there and even use your Marriott Bonvoy points. Personally, our family loves this property for the pools – they’re unbelievable. Spacious Villas For Large Groups
Whether you’re vacationing just as a family or you’ve invited the in-laws, you’ll find plenty of space in your luxurious villa. It feels like a home away from home since you’re equipped with all of the comforts you need. Each villa has up to 1,025 sq. feet of space, a full kitchen and a laundry area. I love washing a load of laundry while we’re playing at the theme parks each day.
When you’re winding down after a long day of family fun, the kids can sleep in their own rooms with twin beds while parents can appreciate the signature Sheraton Bed. Our two-bedroom villa could sleep up to 8 people.
Having a full kitchen (with dishes and silverware) helps save some cash by preparing breakfast ourselves. Plus, the full refrigerator came in handy for my infant’s bottles. Orlando has several grocery companies that can deliver on-site upon your arrival. If grilling is more your style, they offer outdoor grills for guests to use as well.
Relaxing Outdoor Pools and Spas
One of my biggest gripes about large resorts is never enough pool space. I was very impressed to find the Sheraton Vistana Resort Orlando has seven outdoor pools and eight whirlpools. It’s easy to cool off from the afternoon heat and let the kids burn off some energy. The pools offered zero-entry access, splash pads, slides and waterfalls. A family favorite was the poolside activities for kids that included games and dancing.
Dining Options
Let’s face it, there is so much fun in Orlando that sometimes you’re too tired to cook. The Sheraton Vistana Orlando features several family-friendly dining options and adult watering holes. We dined poolside at Castaway’s Bar & Grill and found the prices very reasonable. Open all day from 7:30am – midnight, guests can dine at Zimmie’s Bar & Grill. The menu features casual Americana cuisine for the whole family.
To-go snacks can be purchased at The Outpost – smoothies, ice cream and drinks. If you’re in need of light groceries for your villa, The Marketplace is the place to pick up any forgotten essentials.
On-Site Sheraton Vistana Activities Designed for Kids
The most surprising part of our Vistana vacation was the amount of fun all of my kids could find – without leaving the property. My oldest participated in a tie-dye shirt class and my youngest loved making her own stuffed animal. The kids activities range from complimentary to a small nominal fee, depending on the activity. The staff was amazing with our kids and really reached out to keep them happy.
For some competitive fun, the whole family enjoyed miniature golf together. A lot of guests enjoyed the tennis courts and basketball courts during the day.
The Spa and Fitness Center
When you’re ready to relax, guests can enjoy the full-service spa. Treatments include massage services, saunas and steam rooms. It’s the perfect way to relieve sore theme park muscles. Yes, that is a thing!
If you’re looking maintain your fitness regimen while vacationing (bravo – good for you), the Sheraton Vistana Orlando resort offers a large fitness center with an array of cardio machines, free weights and resistance machines. There are also bike rentals and an outdoor jogging path.
While a lot of families contemplate a vacation, I realize that it’s the most precious time we can spend together. We’re not under our day-to-day stress and it gives me the opportunity to bond with the kids. The Sheraton Vistana helps you stretch your vacation budget with so many on-site amenities, that you’ll be able to spend even more time together as a family. That is an awesome gift for everyone.
