The Nutritional Benefits Of Smoothie Bowls
Since you can be creative with smoothie bowls, you can really pack a nutritional punch. I start with picking my preferred protein powder. You can do a whey protein or plant-based option. Vanilla is the most versatile flavor and what works best for this recipe.
Secondly, you can pick the yogurt base you want. I do a low sugar greek yogurt that’s also a vanilla flavor. Since the fruit offers natural sugars, I like to keep the yogurt low sugar and low carb. The yogurt and almond milk provide a great source of calcium.
For the fruit, pick out what’s in season and your favorite flavor combinations. We love blueberry picking as a family. I stick them in the freezer to use for smoothies. I use fresh frozen fruit – all organic.
