B Ocean: Best Family Beach Resort In Fort Lauderdale

They say that Fort Lauderdale is the gateway to South Florida, but I think it’s a gateway to family fun and relaxation. The city is known for its art, fresh seafood and a melting pot of cultures – making it a fantastic family vacation destination with plenty to do beyond the beach. Compliment your visit by picking a resort that has everything families need. Look no further than B Ocean Resort for it’s amazing location, excellent service and fantastic views.

The best place to stay in Fort Lauderdale with kids - B Ocean Resort review.

Fort Lauderdale offers 24 miles of sandy shoreline and there are plenty of hotels, with ocean views, to pick from. What separates B Ocean Resort from the surrounding competition is their picture-perfect location. Not only does the resort have ocean views, but it sits directly on the beach. That means you don’t have to tote the kids across (the always busy) A1A Highway for beach access. It’s the biggest peace-of-mind for parents and makes a day at the beach even easier.

Additionally, B Ocean Resort sits between the beach and the intracoastal. Guests can enjoy views of the water, on the both sides of the resort – making the room views even more attractive.

Whether you’re craving a relaxing family beach vacation, adding a few days to your Fort Lauderdale cruise itinerary or want to explore the city – check out the top reasons to stay at B Ocean Resort with kids.

Best Reasons To Stay AT B Ocean Resort With Kids

I’ll be the first to admit that South Florida doesn’t always stand out as an area to visit with kids, but there are so many things to do in Fort Lauderdale with kids. B Ocean Resort is only a 15-minute drive from the airport, 10-minutes from the downtown area and the beach is only a few steps from your hotel room. The central location of the hotel allows easy access to everything you’ll want to do with the kids.

Easy Beach Access With Added Amenities

B Ocean Resort has the biggest bragging rights with their direct on-the-beach location, but they also offer some great amenities that families can take advantage of. Lounge chairs are available for resort guests and cabanas are available for rent. Play beach volleyball on the courts and corn hole with the kids, and grab a drink at the beachside bar.

If you’re looking to explore more of the beach, or even the city, enjoy the complimentary B Ocean Resort Bicycles. These beach cruisers are the perfect way to explore the shops and dining options that are on the beach.

Multiple Pools For Families To Enjoy

When you’re done with the beach, head to one of B Ocean’s pools. They have a quiet rooftop pool (located on the 2nd floor of the main building) and a fun infinity-edge pool that’s right off of the beach. Both pools are easy to access and welcome kids. There are larger cabanas, with couches, that are available for rent at the main beachside pool. They’re perfect for families that want a bit more privacy. Plus, waiters are available to take orders for the Salty Siren which offers quick poolside eats and frozen drinks.

World-Famous B Ocean Resort Mermaids

Did you know that a scene from the 1999 movie “Analyze This” was filmed at the world-famous Wreck Bar inside B Ocean Resort? The Wreck Bar is filled with retro nautical decor and the windows behind the bar actually look underwater in one of the outdoor pools. You can grab a drink anytime at the bar, but they’re known for their mermaid shows.

Available on the weekends, families can purchase tickets to watch The Coral Reef Mermaids show. It’s the family-friendly alternative to their famous burlesque mermaid show. The show is packed with adventure and excitement, plus its great entertainment while enjoying brunch.

Multiple Rooms & Suites That Are Perfect For Families

Ask me what my favorite part of visiting B Ocean Resort with kids is and I’ll tell you it’s the suite we stayed in. Pick from a city view, intracoastal, ocean view or an ocean front room. I love that there are so many view choices, along with size of rooms top pick from, so that you can work the room rate into your budget.

Posh Suite Intracoastal Room Views

The “Posh Suite” – where we stayed – offers a panoramic view of both the ocean and intracoastal. With an open floor plan and separate master bedroom, it offers plenty of room for larger families. Two separate bathrooms also provide a bit more ease and flexibility.

If you’re visiting B Ocean Resort with a baby in tow, definitely consider booking a suite with a walk-in closet. Call the front desk to ask for a recommendation on what your options are. In our “Posh Suite” we were able to fit the pack-n-play in the walk-in closet, which is a huge advantage when traveling with a baby.

Plenty Of On-Property Resort Dining Options

Lastly, if you’re looking for simplicity on your family vacation and want dining options that are on property, you’re going to love everything that B Ocean Resort offers. In total, there are four places to wind down from your beach day and enjoy a delicious meal:

  • The Salty Siren: Overlooking the ocean, The Salty Siren is great poolside dining with casual sandwiches and seafood options. Plus, they offer signature cocktails, like the “B Lit” which is coconut water and rum served in a real coconut.
  • Wreck Bar: Tiki inspired cocktails and seafood plates are served nightly at The Wreck. It’s a Fort Lauderdale landmark and a must-do when you’re visiting B Ocean. Seating is limited for the shows, but the bar is open when the mermaids aren’t swimming too!
  • Naked Crab: Modern Mediterranean meets the Florida coast at Naked Crab Seafood Kitchen + Cocktail Bar. Fresh local ingredients star on the nightly menu offerings and the candlelit tables are a touch of romance after a beach day.
  • The Florida Bar + Clipper Express: The quickest “to-go” options, The Florida Bar and Clipper Express are located in the lobby. Enjoy a quick cocktail from Florida Bar and grab a light breakfast at Clipper.

Our family loves B Ocean and I recommend it for any family looking to vacation in Fort Lauderdale. Even if you’re bringing young kids, it’s a great choice. I really think the direct on-the-beach location is the biggest reason to book. Yet, the resort is full of other amenities that families will appreciate just as much as the beach location. That’s why it’s the best family beach resort in Fort Lauderdale.
