When I checked into Cloudland at McLemore Resort, I was greeted by floor-to-ceiling windows that offered mountain vista views. Perched high above the clouds on Lookout Mountain, Cloudland blends luxury travel with family-friendly comfort. Check in for the championship golf courses, but there are still plenty of ways for the whole family to enjoy vacation. Sitting two hours from Nashville and two hours from Atlanta, Cloudland is the luxury family mountain escape hidden in plain sight.

Why Families Love Cloudland at McLemore Resort

The days of luxury resorts not welcoming families are over. Today, parents want family-friendly luxury, and Cloudland delivers. Even though the resort is in its infancy, only a few years since it’s opening, Cloudland continues to offer well-rounded amenities and programs for families.

Splash at the infinity pool, make s’mores over an open fire, hike the trails, or sign the kids up for junior golf clinics. Cloudland at McLemore isn’t designed exclusively for kids, and that’s why I love it. The resort manages to meet that sweet spot, marrying family-friendly fun with amenities for adults.

Spend a family day at the pool, then ask the concierge to arrange a babysitter for an evening out at Auld Alliance—because parents deserve a meal at the only Scottish-French restaurant in the U.S. It’s a win-win for the whole family.

Spacious Rooms Designed for Families

Cloudland at McLemore Resort makes traveling with kids feel comfortable from the moment families step into their rooms. Standard guest rooms offer enough space to spread out after a day exploring Lookout Mountain, while plush bedding, oversized windows and calming mountain-inspired décor create a relaxing retreat for both parents and children.

Families especially appreciate the option for connecting rooms and larger suites, giving everyone extra breathing room without sacrificing the resort’s upscale feel. I prefer the mountain views and it’s worth the upgrade.

Thoughtful touches help make family stays easier, too. Cribs and playpens are available upon request, and spacious bathrooms, mini refrigerators, and comfortable seating areas make it simple to settle in for a multi-night mountain getaway.

Golf That Welcomes Every Age

Enjoy the mountain views while teeing off. Cloudland offers two world-class golf courses nestled amongst its picturesque landscape. The Highlands is an 18-hole course that sits 2,300 feet above sea level, with a par 71. Additionally, The Keep offers another option for players on the Eastern edge of Lookout Mountain. Guests take a resort shuttle to play at The Keep, and finish with the most stunning cliff views on the 18th hole.

For youngsters, McLemore Resort offers tailored golf instruction, including private lessons for juniors (15 and under) with PGA professionals. Programs focus on skill improvement using TopTracer Range technology, with opportunities for on-course coaching on The Highlands course. There are also family sessions for 3-6 family members, providing a fun, educational group experience. Concierge can assist with tee times and reservations.
