Pros of Staying in Disney Villas
The Disney villas are becoming a popular option for families to book, over the Disney resort standard rooms. If you’re not familiar with booking a Walt Disney World vacation though, it can easily be an overlooked option. The amenities offered in the Disney villas bring so much value to the families who stay in them. It becomes their preferred option after one stay in them.
The first step in planning your Walt Disney World vacation is deciding which resort is the best fit for your family. There are many considerations to think about, such as budget and location, but there are also many different room options available at each resort.
The villas are my family’s choice of room at WDW, but I polled readers to find out why so many tourists are attracted to the Disney villas.
Pros of staying in Disney villas
Spacious Layouts
This is the #1 reason why families book a Disney villa. The elbow room offered in a villa is far superior to a standard room. If you plan to bring extended family or childcare, you can book a multiple room villa. For example, a 2-bedroom vill at the Boardwalk Resort sleeps up to 9 people with a common area and kitchen. With multiple spaces to get ready and toilets, you won’t feel crowded.
Full Kitchen Access
The Disney villas offer a kitchen table and a full kitchen with an oven, stovetop, dishwasher and refrigerator. You can even have your kitchen filled with ordered groceries prior to your arrival. Our family loves it for making a quick breakfast, keeping baby bottles clean and even storing leftovers from restaurants. If you aren’t a fan of Disney’s dining plan options, you might want the access to a full kitchen.
Washer and Dryer
I never come home from a Disney vacation with dirty clothes, now that we book villas. I throw a load in before heading to the parks. It’s perfect post-race during a Run Disney vacation or for my toddler, who goes through clothes like crazy. Pro tip: bring your own detergent pods from home!
Master Suite Amenities
Tired after a long day at the parks? The Master Suite of a villa is the perfect way to rejuvenate. All of the resorts have large garden soaking tubs and newer resorts, like the villas at the Grand Floridian, have rainforest shower heads. It’s the perfect way to relax!
A Quiet Spot
Some of the resorts offer the villa rooms in a different building, separate from their main lobby. We experience this at the Villas at the Grand Floridian and  Bay Lake Towers at The Contemporary Resort. Outside your villa feels much more quiet and less busy than staying in a standard room. It becomes a quiet getaway spot for your family with far less foot traffic.
So how to do you book a villa at Walt Disney World?
There are several ways to book a villa for your next WDW vacation. You can pay out of pocket and pay with cash through Disney’s website or through travel agent.
Another option is to rent Disney Vacation Club points, which can sometimes save you money. You don’t have to sign up for a DVC membership either. David’s Vacation Club Rentals is a favorite amongst friends who have rented DVC points. They come highly recommended.
If your Disney vacation just isn’t magical without Grandma and Grandpa, you might want to consider the option of booking a Disney villa. Families love the extra amenities that the villas offer and continue to book them, year after year, because of that.

I wouldn’t have a clue where to book or how to go about any of it if we were ever to go to Disney! I would love to and take the fam!
Wow, I didnt realize that there were full villa’s available in Disney. What a way for families to go.
The Villas are so nice. I love all the room you have to relax in. A vacation is supposed to be comfortable so this seems like the way to go for accommodations.
Looks like a lovely place to stay. Another great option at Disney. There are so many.
It looks like you had fun and I’m glad about that. Disney are the best place for a family.
We are planning another Disney trip soon. I will keep this in mind!
Having a full kitchen and washer/dryer are two huge perks of the Disney villas! Especially if you’re there for more than a couple days. Thanks for this great post!
It is great that there is so much space available and that it is a quiet spot. That sounds like the perfect getaway.
This would totally be my way to stay at Disney! I love the spacious and luxurious rooms – and the washer/dryer! Boom! Sold!
I love the idea of a washer and dryer. We are looking at multi bedroom unit in December, but will probably stay with our time share. These Disney villas look beautiful, however!
This looks great and it’s Disney?? AMAZING! I have never gone wrong with anything Disney. This looks like a great way to go.
I think it’s really more advantageous to stay in a Disney Villa. I am planning to take my granddaughters there next year. This will help a lot.
Becoming a DVC member and making this my accommodations every time I go to Disney was one of the best decisions I ever made. The perks like the space and free laundry are fantastic!
The villa is lovely and it’s really awesome to be able to stay here with the kids! I love all the amenities that’s included! And it’s convenient that they have a washer and a dryer!
Kimberly – Thank you so much for mentioning David’s Vacation Club Rentals (dvcRentals.com) in your article. One of the best reasons to rent a DVC Villa is the ability to stay in a deluxe villa for roughly the same price as a moderate resort room. That’s great Kimberly – and thanks for tweeting the article. That’s how I came across it. I’ve shared it on our Pinterest page.
This is absolutely a nice place to stay. I’d love to go there with my family
I would LOVE to book a villa there! I’m dying to take my kids to Walt Disney World!
Having a larger fridge and a washer/dryer is so helpful on longer Disney trips. I stayed in a villa once and it was one of our favorite trips.
I LOVE staying at the villas! I did that this past summer and it was SO much fun. I like how secluded you are in the resort.
Yes please! I would love to stay in a Disney Villa. Unfortunately it hasn’t been in the budget yet…but we are working that way!
Oh I totally agree villas have so many benefits – more space, washer, full kitchen, less noise. And they offer options for different budgets too.
I’ll have to remember this when we start planning our Disney vacation.
Omg how fabulous is this?!?! This is one place at Disney I haven’t stayed! When I lived in Orlando we use to stay at the parks more often than I would like to admit because ummmm stay-cation lol
Oh wow, these villas look so nice and I love all the ammenities!! Perfect for a family vacation!
Wow I would never think to look at one of these as option. I will have to keep this in mind when we finally plan on disney trip!
Wow! Those are beautiful and I would have never thought of them. We stayed at Animal Kingdom this year and I was really underwhelmed. I might even say disappointed.
I love having full kitchen access when I’m on vacation because it saves us a lot of money on eating out in restaurants. This way we bring our own groceries and plan our meals ahead.
These villas would definitely make a vacation less cramped and super enjoyable. We once stayed at the All Star Resort and loved it. There’s something nice about being so close to the parks!
I have never stayed in one of the villas but they look great. I will have to stay in one whenever we go back.
This looks like a great way to do Disney! All of the different amenities that you have access to makes for a less expensive trip in the long run.
These are all great reasons! I love to travel but sometimes a standard hotel room just isn’t gonna cut it unless you want to eat out for every meal! Love a room with a full kitchen so you can save some money on the food!
