Two-Minute Cannoli Dessert Dip

Last Updated on February 9, 2022 by Kimberly Stroh

When we dine out at an Italian restaurant, and they have freshly made Cannolis, I cannot resist. I order them every time. Since I don’t have an Italian bone in my body, I had to create this Easy Cannoli Dessert Dip to satisfy my cravings. It’s made with super creamy ricotta cheese, powdered sugar for sweetness a touch of orange for flavoring and topped with miniature chocolate chips. It’s definitely addictive and the perfect dessert for any party.

Sweet and creamy, with chocolate and a hint of orange - this Cannoli Dessert Dip is perfect for a party!

I love dessert dips because they’re super casual. You don’t have to be an experienced baker and there is no cooking. You just simply mix everything together in minutes. The longer it sits the more flavor you get too. So I’ll prep this Cannoli Dessert Dip a few hours before a party and let it sit in the fridge until I’m ready to serve it.

I always find guests hovering over this dip when I make it. It’s the perfect partnering to other appetizers and offers a touch of sweet. Double the recipe if you have a bigger crowd. I never end up with leftovers after I serve this.

How To Make Cannoli Dessert Dip

You really don’t need any fancy kitchen tool for this recipe. I do use my electric hand mixer to ensure the dip is smooth and mixed thoroughly. However, you can whip the dessert together with just a spoon – your wrist will be put through a workout. Then I serve my dip in a pretty serving bowl that fits the theme of the occasion.

What To Serve With Cannoli Dessert Dip

I’m all about the dippers! You’ve got to serve some amazing dippers to go with your dessert. I love to add some pretzels for something sweet and some vanilla wafers. It’s a thicker dip, so you want a sturdy dipper. Graham crackers are another great choice. It’s all about personal preference – or what you have in the pantry.

How To Make Your Cannoli Dip Ahead Of Time

If you’re prepping this dessert for a party, you can make it up to 24 hours ahead of time. Just keep the dessert in the refrigerator before serving. The longer the dip sits, the more flavoring it gets (thanks to the orange zest). So feel free to make the dessert several hours ahead of time and just add the miniature chips at the last minute.

Do I Need To Refrigerate The Dip During A Party?

If your dip is refrigerated ahead of time you can serve it left out for several hours and be fine. If you’re serving the dip at an outdoor event, in the sun, I would definitely serve it over ice. The ricotta cheese is a dairy product.

How To Keep Leftover Cannoli Dip Fresh

Place all leftovers in an airtight food storage container. Enjoy it for 3-4 days when it’s refrigerated. The dessert does not freeze well, so just make a new fresh batch every time.
