Each Mickey Donut is dipped in orange and green candy melts to look like pumpkins, then decorated with a cute face and ears. They tastes as cute as they look too – they have a great soft texture while the outside candy coating adds a bit of crunch that melts in your mouth.
Sometimes you just need a bit of Disney magic at home and there’s no better way than whipping up some magic in the kitchen. Until we make it to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney World, these will have to do!

If you don’t already own a Donut Baking Pan, you’re going to need one for this recipe. They’re easy to use and you’ll end up with the perfect round donut shape that you want!
When To Make This Recipe & What To Serve With It
Obviously, pumpkins – you’re going to make this recipe during the fall season. I love it for family brunch time or during the weekend when you’ve got the extra time in the kitchen. I’ve also made them for Thanksgiving breakfast and brought them as a treat to events. They travel easily!
How To Make Your Baked Mickey Pumpkin Donuts Ahead Of Time
If you want to make your pumpkin donuts ahead of time, then you can prep the baked donuts before beforehand. Bake the donuts, let them cool and add them to a freezer bag or airtight food storage container. Then, you can decorate them as you get closer to the time that you want to serve them. Just be sure you’ve allowed time for the candy coating to set!
Keeping Your Pumpkin Donuts Fresh
After you’ve decorated the donuts, keep them fresh by storing them in airtight food storage containers. For best freshness, enjoy the donuts within 3-4 days. Keep them sealed in-between enjoying them.
Can You Freeze Mickey Pumpkin Donuts?
Yes! You can easily freeze your Mickey Pumpkin Donuts by storing them in a freezer bag. You want to prevent freezer burn as much as possible. They’ll last up to 3 months in the freezer. Let them thaw to room temperature before enjoying again. Toss the donuts after 3 months in the freezer.
What You’ll Need To Make Your Donuts:
- All-Purpose Flour
- Granulated Sugar
- Baking Powder
- Salt
- Sweet Cream Butter
- Egg
- Whole Milk
- Vanilla Extract
- Powdered Sugar
- Corn Syrup
- Orange, Yellow & Green Gel Food Coloring
- Orange Candy Melts
- Piping Bags & Popsicle Sticks
How To Make Mickey Pumpkin Donuts
Preheat your oven to 350 degree’s and spray a doughnut baking pan with pam baking spray. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a small bowl, whisk together egg, milk, butter, and vanilla extract.
Combine the wet ingredients in with the dry ingredients and mix until well combined. Spoon batter into doughnut pan and bake for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow to cool for 6 minutes before removing and placing the doughnuts onto a wire rack. Repeat steps until all batter is used.
For the vanilla icing and decorating: Using a standing mixer, combine the powdered sugar, corn syrup, milk and vanilla extract and mix on medium to high speed until smooth and thick.
Scoop about 1/4 C of the icing into 2 bowls. Add a few drops of green to one bowl. Add a few drops of yellow to the second bowl. Scoop the two icing’s into their own piping bag.
Add a few drops of the orange gel food coloring into the remaining white icing. Scoop about 5 TBSP of orange icing into a piping bag and set aside.
Using a sharp knife, cut slits into the top corners of the doughnut for Mickey’s ears. Place an orange candy melt into the slits.
Place doughnuts onto a wire rack and carefully pour the remaining orange icing onto the doughnuts. Allow to dry for 30 minutes.
Carefully push in a pixie stick into the top center of the doughnut in between the ears.
Cut the tip of the green piping bag and pipe green icing onto the pixie stick. Make sure the stick is completely coated. Allow to dry for 30 minutes.
Using the green piping bag, pipe 3 lines onto the “Stem”. Using the orange piping bag, pipe the details of the pumpkin onto the doughnuts. Allow to dry for 30 minutes.
Mickey Pumpkin Donuts - A Fun Disney Halloween Recipe
A fun halloween kids recipe, these Mickey Pumpkin Donuts are a not-so-spooky way to celebrate.
Ingredients
For The Donuts:
- 1 C flour
- 1/3 C sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted sweet cream butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 C + 1 1/2 tbsp whole milk
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
For The Vanilla Donut Icing:
- 4 C powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp clear corn syrup
- 1/2 C whole milk
- 1 tsp clear vanilla extract
- Orange, yellow and Green gel food coloring
- 3 disposable piping bags
For The Decorating:
- 1 box of Pixie/Popsicle Sticks (Sticks only) cut into 1/3rds
- 1 bag of orange candy melts
Instructions

- Allow to dry completely before enjoying
