This idea came to me when we had some leftover rolls of store-bought cookie dough in our refrigerator. They’re such a versatile tool when you need a quick dessert option. You’ll love how easy this cookie cake comes together. The kids think it’s the neatest dessert and they even help put the spiders on it. It’s sure to be a big hit in your home with the kiddos.

Spooky season always calls for something sweet! Sometimes it’s a special after-school snack, or a treat for Halloween movie watching and an easy dessert for a party. There’s always a reason to pull out the cookie dough and make something that’s festive and fun.

You can find the sugar cookie dough rolls in your refrigerated section. I use the Pillsbury brand because they use treated flour and eggs to ensure it’s safe to eat raw (just in case little fingers grab some). You can also shape it into whatever you want. Obviously, a traditional circle is all you need for the Halloween Cookie Cake.

When To Make Your Halloween Cookie Cake

Make it for any spooky season occasion! I love to get the kids in the kitchen to help me make it and then we all enjoy it as a family. They love helping with the spider web design.

If you want to serve it at a Halloween party, then I would make it fresh and serve it within a few hours. It’s hard to make ahead of time or the day prior. Luckily though, it’s an easy recipe to throw together.

How To Make The Perfect Cookie Cake Circle Design

When you’re pressing your cookie dough into a circle, use a bowl to help you make that perfect circular shape. I do it on top of my cookie sheet. Flip the bowl over and cut around the edges. That will give you the perfect circle. Of course you don’t need to do this step, but I like the nice round even look.

What To Serve With Your Halloween Cookie Cake

Keep it simple and fun. If I’m making this as a dessert for the kids, then I just add a glass of cold milk. They love it as a fall dessert. If you want to get a bit more fancy, this Non-Alcoholic Halloween Punch recipe is a great pairing for a party.

How To Store Leftover Halloween Cookie Cake

If you have a few slices leftover, add them to airtight food storage containers! That will keep the cookie cake fresh for 3-4 days to enjoy any leftovers. The cookie cake doesn’t freeze well, so I’d enjoy it immediately after making it.

In a mixing bowl, mix one can of white frosting with orange gel food coloring, until you get the desired orange color you like. I added a lot for a deeper orange color! Spread onto the cookie, using a knife.
