I grew up with my Dad sprinkling cinnamon sugar on everything in the 90’s, from toast to cereal. It’s a nostalgic flavor that’s irresistible. I keep these Cinnamon Sugar Baked Crackers in the pantry during the fall. With just a sleeve of saltines, a touch of oil or melted butter, a generous sprinkle of cinnamon, and a hint of sugar, you’ll create a snack that’s crispy, sweet, and perfectly spiced. I love it as an easy party snack or for a fall movie night.

Why We Let The Crackers Sit Overnight
This is such an easy recipe, but it’s recommended that the crackers sit overnight. It’s more time consuming, but the flavors are best when the crackers sit. That allows the cinnamon sugar and the oil (or butter) to absorb into the crackers before they’re baked. The end result is better depth of flavor.

Cinnamon Sugar Baked Crackers Ingredients:
- Oil (or Melted Butter): Use a vegetable oil or melted salted cream butter.
- Cinnamon: Find it in the grocery spice section.
- Granulated Sugar: White granulated sugar.
- Saltine Crackers: These are my preferred cracker because they’re light and not buttery. Oyster crackers also work if you want a smaller size cracker.
If you prefer to use a Homemade Cinnamon Sugar seasoning, it’s simple to make and works as a substitute.

How To Store These Crackers For Freshness
Once the crackers have baked and cooled, they’re ready to be served. For the best freshness, store the crackers in an airtight food storage container. Keep them at room temperature, in your pantry, away from direct heat. I make a batch (or double the recipe) in the fall, and keep them in my pantry for any occasion. Enjoy the baked crackers within 4 weeks.
How To Make Cinnamon Sugar Baked Crackers Step-by-Step
Place vegetable oil (or butter), cinnamon and granulated sugar in a large zip-top bag. Close the bag and use your hands to squish together all of the ingredients to combine.

Open the bag and add in the saltine crackers. (You may need to do this in two batches). Close the bag and shake to coat the saltines in the cinnamon-butter mixture.

Allow the saltines to sit out overnight to absorb the seasoning. Preheat oven to 250ºF. Line a baking sheet with tinfoil and spread the cinnamon-sugar crackers out on the lined baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes until the crackers are fully dry and set.
