How To Make Bacon Swiss Quiche
I love to keep things super easy and use a frozen pie crust, but if you want to make a homemade pie crust, use a 9-inch pie dish. All you need is a medium mixing bowl and a whisk to beat your eggs. That’s it!
What To Serve With Bacon Swiss Quiche
Quiches are like complete meals. You don’t need to serve them with anything, but I like a light and refreshing vinaigrette side salad. A light lemon vinaigrette is perfect for brunch with arugula.
Since the quiche has bacon, feel free to add other breakfast meats as a side item. Ham or sausage can be served along the side or as a breakfast sandwich with the quiche. Decide whether you want to serve a heavy brunch or keep it light.
Tips For Making Quiche Ahead Of Time
If you want to make quiche ahead of time, make the custard in a mixing bowl and add the filling ingredients to the custard. Store it in the refrigerator. Keep the custard in the fridge until you’re ready to bake the quiche. I’ll prep the custard in the morning and bake it when I get home, right before dinner. Or make it the night before for a brunch.
Just pour the custard into frozen pie dish and bake as directed. It’s just as delicious even when you prep the quiche ahead of time.
How To Store Leftover Quiche
For best freshness, enjoy the quiche within 5-6 days of baking it. Either transfer slices to an airtight food storage container or cover the quiche with plastic wrap. Place it in the refrigerator. To reheat the quiche, I just microwave mine in the 30-second increments on high. It’s a great to-go lunch option!
Can You Freeze Quiche?
Yes! You can easily freeze quiche and serve it later. 9-inch pies easily slide into gallon freezer bags. Store the quiche in the back of the freezer, where the temperature does’t fluctuate much. Let it thaw in the refrigerator, overnight, before reheating again.
Recipe Variations
Add any vegetables that you want to! I love to add whatever is growing in our garden or what’s on sale at the grocery store. If you want to do cooked sausage or ham, instead of bacon, that’s another great option. It depends on what flavor you want. I start with bacon and mix it up on occasion.
