As a mom, I’m always looking for family trips that actually feel relaxing for everyone. Typically, indoor water park resorts aren’t the first vacation that comes to mind, but OKANA Resort surprised me. Between the exciting water slides, enormous outdoor lagoon, kid-friendly suites, and an adults-only swim-up bar, it manages to keep kids entertained while still feeling like a true getaway for adults. From the moment we checked into the new Oklahoma resort, it was clear this wasn’t just another hotel with a pool. It’s a vacation destination loaded with everything your family loves.
What Is OKANA Resort in Oklahoma City?
OKANA opened its doors in 2025 and is a sprawling, family-friendly resort. It features an indoor water park, an outdoor lagoon, five on-site restaurants, a full-service spa, arcade, laser tag, and multiple adults-only areas. The resort is steps away from the First Americans Museum, and just outside of Oklahoma City.
Upon arrival, my son and I went to the outdoor lagoon first. It truly makes OKANA unique, setting it apart from the competition among indoor water park resorts. While the 100,000-square-foot indoor water park attracts guests year-round, it’s so much more than a water park. It’s an all-encompassing entertainment destination where families can check in and play.

Inside the OKANA Indoor Waterpark
Traveling with my 5-year-old, we enjoyed the areas designed for younger kids. But the star of OKANA’s indoor waterpark is Wild Rapids: half roller coaster and half water slide, this attraction propels riders uphill before dropping into twists and turns.
On top of that, there’s plenty of traditional water slides and obstacle attractions to test your skills or surfing abilities. I appreciate that OKANA is fully staffed with lifeguards and offers complimentary lifejackets for use. The water is always 82 degrees, so the water park is perfect no matter what time of year you visit OKANA.
The Best OKANA Resort Water Park Attractions For Young Kids:
- Splash Falls: An interactive splash playground with buckets, splash zones and mini water slides. This area is perfect for young kids through grade-school ages.
- Low Tide: This is where my 5-year-old felt the most comfortable. Low Tide is designed for toddlers and preschoolers with swings, slides, and interactive play areas to enjoy alongside parents.
- Enchanted River: The lazy river is perfect for parents who want to float in a tube with a little one on their lap.
- OKANA Crossing: Grade-school-aged kids will love testing their balance skills as they walk across lily pads for the perfect “watch me” moment.

OKANA’s Outdoor Lagoon Is the 4th Largest Pool in the U.S.
OKANA Beach offers seven outdoor water attractions, on top of the outdoor lagoon. Parents love soaking up the sun while watching kids splash on the edges of the zero-entry lagoon. Or let the kids play in sand, because OKANA truly brings the beach to “The Sooner State.” The outdoor OKANA Beach areas open annually in mid-May.
Thrill seekers can jump, climb, and glide on the outdoor water attractions. Some of the attractions include an admission fee but grant guests all-day access. If you’re bringing teens and tweens, they’ll love the outdoor attractions.
OKANA Beach Outdoor Water Park Attractions:
- The Drop-Off: Dueling high-thrill slides that end with a sudden drop into a deep water pool.
- Zip & Dip: Soar down a zipline before making a splash landing in the deep-water pool below.
- Bounce Bay: An inflatable obstacle course to test your skills (kids must be 42″ with an adult).
- Summit Splash: Might be the only way to experience a “free fall” cliff diving experience in Oklahoma.

Dining Options Available at OKANA Resort
There are five on-site restaurants at OKANA, which makes parents happy. OKANA blows Great Wolf Lodge food out of the water (pun intended). In my opinion, food has always been one of the least desirable parts of an indoor water park resort. OKANA flips the script and offers next-level food for everyone.
It’s impressive that an indoor water park resort can offer so much variety. Kick off your day with a quick pastry and Starbucks coffee (or buffet), enjoy poolside ramen noodles or pizza, then end your day with Tex-Mex or a steak from the gastropub, Jack Rabbit. Of course, there’s still plenty of fried chicken tenders, burgers, or macaroni for the kids (my son ate all the chicken tenders at OKANA).

The OKANA Areas Designed For Adults Only
Hands down, the most surprising part of OKANA is the area that caters to adults. Typically, adults are passed over in favor of kids—not at OKANA! Rent cabanas in an adult-only section, reserve full body treatments at the spa, and grab a drink at the swim-up bar (an entire space for adults at the outdoor lagoon).
At night, after 9 pm, head to Bullseye, where craft cocktails meet games that test your skills. It’s a high-energy 21+ restaurant and bar lined with eleven axe-throwing bays, nine dart-throwing bays, and two mini golf digital challenge holes. It’s a late-night watering hole perfect for bachelorette parties, girls’ nights out, and date nights. I love that OKANA includes adult guests and caters to more than just children.
Pro Tip: Bullseye is open to ages 13+ before 9 pm, but kids ages 13-17 must be accompanied by an adult, and parents must sign a waiver.
How to Visit OKANA Resort With a Day Pass
You don’t necessarily have to book an overnight stay to experience OKANA Resort’s water attractions. Depending on availability and the season, the Oklahoma City resort offers limited day passes that give visitors access to the indoor waterpark and select resort amenities without reserving a room. Day passes can be especially popular during weekends, school breaks, and summer months, so advance reservations are recommended whenever they become available.
A day pass can be a great option for local families, road-trippers passing through Oklahoma City, or visitors who want to experience the slides, lazy river, pools, and lagoon atmosphere without committing to a full resort stay. Availability, pricing, and included amenities may vary throughout the year, so checking OKANA Resort’s official website before your visit is the best way to find current details.
