Whether you’re hauling kids to soccer practice, planning a weekend escape to the mountains, or just navigating the chaos of daily life, you need a vehicle that’s as versatile as you are. Enter the 2025 GMC Acadia AT4. It’s an SUV that combines real-world capability with premium comfort. With bold styling and family-first features, the new GMC Acadia isn’t just tough—it’s well designed with family in mind. And yes, it still has enough cup holders.

1. GMC’s Super Cruise Feature Will Change Road Trips Forever
Let’s talk about family road trips. It’s when the snacks fly, someone always needs a bathroom break, and “Are we there yet?” becomes the soundtrack. This is where GMC’s Super Cruise feature shines. Available on the 2025 Acadia AT4 (and all trim levels), Super Cruise is a hands-free driving technology for compatible highways that takes some of the stress out of long hauls.
Imagine cruising down the interstate while the system helps steer, brake, and accelerate—all while you keep your eyes on the road and your hands off the wheel (yes, really). It’s like having a co-pilot who doesn’t argue over which exit to take.
It only took a few minutes for us to feel comfortable once Super Cruise was activated. The vehicle has a camera that detects if your eyes leave the road, giving you three warnings before it’s deactivated. I love the GMC added responsibility to this unique hands-off feature.

2. Acadia AT4 Tech Options Designed For Families
Keeping the little ones entertained (and peaceful) in the back seat is practically an Olympic sport, but the 2025 Acadia AT4 is up for the challenge. With available Wi-Fi hotspot, USB ports in every row, and an upgraded infotainment system with a massive 15-inch screen, screen time has never looked so smooth. found the vertical infotainment system to be less distracting. It’s all-encompassing as you drive, so we didn’t have to turn our heads away from the road as much.
Whether it’s streaming shows, playing road trip games, or letting teens DJ from the back, the tech in the Acadia helps keep everyone happy—and gives mom a little more peace and quiet up front.

3. Bold Design & Performance Capabilities
The updated Acadia AT4 boasts a bold exterior design, highlighted by its all-terrain tires, and increased ground clearance. There’s no need to panic when the school runs out of parking spots and you’ve got to jump the curb, to park in the field. Or when you’re navigating tough terrain. Same difference.
Beneath its exterior style lies enhanced performance, featuring powerful engine options, a refined suspension system for improved handling, and a responsive all-wheel-drive system that ensures traction in any environment. Every Acadia is powered by a 328-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four engine, but the GMC Active Torque Control all-wheel drive is standard on the AT4 trim level.
We didn’t have too many mountains to drive on our family road trip in the Acadia AT4, but it features a terrain drive mode and hill descent control. It’s comforting to have those features when you’re towing large weight (it has up to 5,000lbs towing capabilities).

4. Interior Comfort The Whole Family Will Love
As a mom, I really appreciate how GMC designed the Acadia’s interior with both comfort and practicality in mind. The materials feel high-quality, and the modern tech features make every drive smoother—whether it’s a school drop-off or a long road trip.
There’s a large center console with plenty of space to stash snacks, wipes, and all the little things we always need on hand. Plus, there’s a hidden open compartment, between the driver and passenger seat that’s great for a large handbag (see image below).
The cabin is roomy for everyone. The 2025 GMC Acadia AT4 offers seating for up to seven passengers. This configuration includes front bucket seats, second-row captain’s chairs, and a third-row 60/40 split bench seat. This setup enhances comfort and accessibility, making it ideal for larger families.
Even with all the seats in use, the Acadia still gives you 23 cubic feet of cargo space, which is more than most mid-size three-row SUVs. That means I can pack everything we need without compromise. Plus, we all know that trunk doubles as a changing table when you’ve got a dirty diaper. More space is better.

5. GMC Teen Driver Technology Gives Parents Peace of Mind
We all know the days are long, but the years are short. Whether you want to admit it or not, the teen years are closer than we like to think. GMC’s Teen Driver technology is designed to help parents encourage safe driving habits in their teenage drivers.
By activating Teen Driver through the vehicle’s infotainment system, parents can set up a designated key fob that enables a suite of safety features and monitoring tools. It’s really easy to find and set up in the Acadia AT4. I think it’s such a valuable tool for parents with new drivers.
When the Teen Driver key is used, certain safety features are automatically activated and cannot be turned off. Some of these include Front Pedestrian Braking, Buckle To Drive, Forward Collision Alert and Forward Automatic Braking, and more. Parent’s can customize the teen driver experience.
Most of the Teen Driver information is available to parents via the GMC app. Parents can set a speed warning between 40–75 mph, which provides a visual warning and audible chime if exceeded. Additionally, an 85-mph speed limiter can be enabled, plus the vehicle’s acceleration power can be limited.
Parents can access a teen driving report card, every time the Teen Drive key fob is used, and it includes the following information:
- Distance driven
- Maximum speed reached
- Number of times the accelerator pedal was floored
- Instances of traction control or stability control activation
- Forward Collision Alert and Forward Automatic Braking events (if equipped)

Overall, our family enjoyed the blend of rugged capability and family-friendly practicality. It truly makes it an ideal choice for moms who want more than just a typical SUV. With its advanced safety features, spacious interior, and intuitive technology, the Acadia AT4 keeps your family comfortable and secure on every journey. Whether you’re a “black SUV mom” or a “white SUV mom”, the Acadia AT4 proves that moms can have both versatility and adventure without compromise.
