My husband, Joe, and I took two trips to Walt Disney World before we were married. It was a destination that we loved. Both times we stayed at the Grand Floridian Resort for multiple days. We enjoyed the food, parks and scenery. We liked it a lot, but didn’t realize just how much.
Fast forward three years later to our honeymoon. Our honeymoon was at Sandal’s La Toc resort in St. Lucia. It was a nice tropical vacation and my husband treated us to the best they offered. But we kept saying “this just isn’t Disney”. That’s when we first realized we are a Disney family.
Any Disney fanatic who has gone on a non-Disney vacation has probably said the same thing at one point. You can’t help but compare every trip back to Disney! They put special touches on everything and leave no detail behind. It took us one trip elsewhere to realize how much we LOVE Disney.
This is why the Stroh family loves Disney trips so much:
1- The Hospitality
We have met the nicest Disney Cast Members on our trips. These Disney employees went out of their way to make our trip a bit more special. We have been serenaded by a boat captain on our way to the parks. We have had waiters at Disney restaurants take extra time with us to ensure our meal is special. My favorite cast members are the face characters. They are worth the wait in line to talk to!2- The Details
Everything seems immaculate and clean about Disney. The maintenance staff even works while guests are asleep. On our 2015 trip aboard the Disney Cruise Line Dream ship, everything was glowing and clean. I appreciate the hard work that Disney Cast Members put into the details.3-Disney Loves Celebrations
Usually when we take a trip, there is something special to celebrate. Disney loves to celebrate with you! From birthdays to first trips, they go above and beyond to make it special. We celebrated my birthday at Disney World in 2014 and I felt like a Princess. Everybody wished me happy birthday.4- Something for Everyone
Disney doesn’t just cater to families, they have something for everyone. We’ve enjoyed the adult side of Disney as a couple. They’ve got nightlife at multiple WDW locations and several hotels with spas. On DCL, they had adult-only dining, a spa and a deck for only adults. These retreats from the kids are a nice offering for adults that parent’s can take advantage of too. They also have kid-only locations! When we were aboard Disney Dream with DCL, kids didn’t want their parents to pick them up.5-The Food
We are such Disney foodies! I love ALL of it. If we go to WDW, we usually get the Deluxe Dining Plan. This gives us the opportunity to try Signature Dining restaurants and the classic quick service offerings. I feel spoiled by all of the fabulous foods we get to try on vacation. They are the type of meals that you can’t get at home and dream about afterwards. Two of our current favorites at WDW are Citrico’s and California Grill. We also loved Palo aboard Disney’s Dream on DCL.
Disney vacations never cease to amaze us. There are a million different ways to vacation with Disney and each trip we discover something new. One day, I’d love to take an Alaskan cruise with Disney Cruise Line or go on an Adventures by Disney trip. September will be our first trip to Walt Disney World with JP.
