As a newbie full marathon runner, I feel like I haven’t experienced any amazing learning curves with my training yet, but I can see them on the horizon. Right now I am very comfortable with my marathon training mileage. I can comfortably run 3 days per week and my highest required mileage has only been 5.5 miles so far. But I think my comfort zone will be ending soon. By early Fall, I’ll be back to running distances that I’ve never conquered before. That’s a feeling I haven’t experienced in 2012!
So right now, I’m going to enjoy the comfortable mileage and waiting for this heat to pass. Hopefully running in the heat will only make me stronger for those longer miles coming up.
Tuesday: Ran 3 miles, scheduled for 3 miles.
Thursday: Ran 4 miles, scheduled for 3 miles.
Sunday: Ran 4.5 miles, scheduled for 3 miles.
I’ve also had a recent flair up in my Plantar Fascitis, which has caused me a bit more pain this week. I’m trying to stay on top of icing, stretching and wearing my brace.
12 Week Vacation Challenge Update:
I didn’t lose any weight this week (womp womp). It’s not frustrating though because I feel like I’m doing really well for focusing on a 12 week window.
I’m still eating clean 80% of the time. I’ve noticed that my joints feel so much better without the processed food and sugar content. My favorite clean meal this week was homemade tomatillo soup with boiled chicken. I’ve got to keep my diet exciting and cooking at home helps.
I’ve got several cute outfits for Disney that I’m excited to wear. Focusing on something fun like that helps me stay motivated. JP’s first trip to Disney will be here soon! 6 weeks to go!
I think so can manage to lose a few more pounds in the next 6 weeks…
What did you do to stay healthy last week?
