I know it doesn’t make for an exciting read, but I’m doing great on my Disney World Marathon training and I’m actually ahead of the Jeff Galloway plan. This works well since I plan to run the Hotlanta Half Marathon next month. The biggest struggle last week was the Summer heat. It truly slows me down to a frustrating pace. When I see myself struggle with pace, it can be discouraging. So I’ve been trying to ignore my pace, focus on the miles instead and stay hydrated.
- Tuesday: scheduled for 3 miles, ran 3.5 miles.
- Wednesday: scheduled for none, ran 3 miles.
- Friday: scheduled for 3 miles, ran 3 miles.
- Sunday: scheduled for 5.5 miles, ran 8 miles.
I’ve been on the treadmill 50% of the time and keeping my long Sunday run outside. I’m ready for my favorite running season…FALL!
My crosstraining has been on point too, with scheduled lifting days. I think running on the tired legs will only help make me stronger. I use free weights and have advice from a personal trainer on how to increase weight properly without getting injured.
My 12 Week Vacation Challenge Update:
I LOVE that my clothes are starting to feel looser. My bloating has truly decreased by eating clean and healthy food choices. I feel less tummy bulge and just overall “lighter”. My husband is starting to see a difference too.
I’m practicing what I preach and meal prepping each Sunday. This makes healthy options available to me when I’m hungry and too tired to cook. I’ve made some clean zucchini muffins with applesauce, chipotle seasoned chicken breasts and spaghetti squash. I scour Pinterest weekly for healthy recipes. Check out my Instagram account for the meal photos.
As promised, I have progress photos for you. To be honest, at first I was disappointed in them. But close friends and family reassured me that they can see a difference. I’ve lost 1 1/2 inches in my thighs and 1 inch in my waist in just 5 weeks time. I can see my muscles a bit more clear now.
So…drumroll please…my progress photos:
Week 1: 172.8 (-4 lbs)
Week 2: 171.6 (-1.2 lbs)
Week 3: 172. 3 (+.8 lbs)
Week 4: 168.4 (-4 lbs)
Week 5: 167.2 (-1.2 lbs)
Total pounds lost thus far: 9.6 lbs
I’m enjoying the Summer, regardless of loose skin or a “Mommy Apron”. JP will only be this age once and I want to cherish this Summer together. We are still seven weeks out to vacation at Disney World and I know I’ll feel good in our vacation photos. Then I plan to stay on track after vacation!
