Everything hurts and I’m tired.
My tired is tired, my patience needs more patience and my feet need some time off.
Sadly, this is my training update for the week. I was feeling really good coming off of the marathon, but lately I’ve felt out of sync! Have you ever felt awesome about running and then it flips and does a 180 on you? That’s what happened to me.
We’ve been dealing with a lot of family stress and my body might be starting to feel it. Joint pain and lack of sleep is usually my body’s first stress signal. The Plantar Fasciitis in my left foot has flared up again and it makes running feel more like a chore than fun. It’s ironic because I need running to de-stress, but my body isn’t loving it right now.
That means I’ve been pushing through my workouts with added walk breaks. The walk breaks help my PF from hurting while allowing me to get miles in. I ran 20 miles this week for Princess Half, including a long run. But it felt like more of a struggle than I had hoped for.
I’m planning to focus on organizing my life a little better and decompressing a bit to help me manage the stress better. I’ve been really careful about my left foot too. Wearing shoes, icing my foot and stretching my calfs should help.
Hopefully that translates into my running and it becomes fun again soon. Because this Princess doesn’t need the aches and pains!
How is your training going and what is your next big race?
