I’ve been in a food coma from all of the amazing Thanksgiving food we ate. My sister’s family joined us for a casual Thanksgiving weekend. My mom made tons of delicious food and JP ate a roll and olives. Aren’t toddlers crazy?
I made my famous caramel apple pie and JP was my big helper! He loves helping me in the kitchen. Ok- so it’s only famous in our family, but it’s a truly yummy pie.
To burn off some of the Thanksgiving calories, we followed REI’s #optoutside campaign and headed to our local parks to play. Georgia was blessed with beautiful weather this week and I couldn’t imagine wasting it to shop.
Today, I redeemed myself from Thanksgiving gluttony and ran my long run. I ran 5 miles with my Sunday run group today and it felt nice to get off the treadmill.
I’m getting a little nervous about the marathon training. I need at least 2 more long runs (18-22 miles) and life is getting busier. Next weekend is JP’s birthday and then the following weekend is a race weekend. Somehow I’ll force myself to get it in, but it isn’t easy right now. I have a few volunteer friends who are going to join me for portions to help divide it up more.
To end a perfect week with my Husband home, he decorated our home for Christmas. I’m not even sure how he did the crazy math to hang our new 3D stars, but I love them. It’s a shame I don’t run at night and outside this time of year.
How was your weekend? Did you run or participate in a Turkey Trot?
