I’ve been a bit MIA on the blog this week because I haven’t had help with childcare care. JP and I have been glued together at the hips. I’ve had some amazing Mommy moments when I felt like everything was under control and then I had some “pull my hair out” Mommy moments where I end up in tears.
My saving grace was my husband being off of work this weekend. I was looking forward to it all week long. The extra help with JP was the only way for my sanity to return.
On Saturday, we took JP to his first trick or treating experience at the mall. He loves a new Disney Jr show called Miles from Tomorrowland. The show teaches the kids all about STEM fields. So of course he’s dressing as Miles for Halloween. I love that our local mall has this event for the kids. It’s indoors, they can easily get candy without walking through the dark and I get the opportunity to window shop!
He did such a great job trick or treating! I’m so proud of the little boy he’s becoming.
For this weekend’s training, I veered away from the usual location and took the family with me. We hiked Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. It’s the sight of several major battles from the Civil War. It was 4 miles total and the whole family did awesome. I was so proud of us hiking up the mountain together without too many tears from JP. It was my favorite part of the weekend!
The views weren’t great due to heavy fog, but it was still worth the hike. The Fall foliage peeked through the fog every now and then.
They have so many trails to chose from. We’ll definitely be back for more!
Our hike was definitely the highlight of our family weekend. I’m so glad I got the opportunity to spend some time with my husband and celebrate the Fall season some more. I’m finally feeling recovered from my long week and looking forward to an easier one coming up. Now it’s time for our usual Sunday prep for the week!
What did you do this weekend? Anything fun with the family?
