Nope- that wasn’t a typo in my title!
I rarely write personal posts, but I wanted to share a little about my weekend. The weather was AMAZING in Georgia! It almost deserves it’s own blog post.
I started the weekend with a quick day trip to Peachtree City to run the Diva Half Marathon (recap will be posted later this week) and felt really good about my race. I’m finishing my halfs feeling stronger at the end, which is perfect for my marathon training. I feel like I can keep going. Yay me! It was a great way to start my weekend.
Later that day, we met up with my cousin and her son who are moving to Georgia! You may know her from her own running blog: jenlefforge.com. She finally got to meet JP and we caught up on family talk. I’m thrilled that she’s moving closer so we can meet up for long runs, lunches & holiday traditions. She’ll love the Atlanta running community.
Sunday was an almost perfect day. I spent the day making memories with my son, while enjoying the weather. We spent ALL day outside playing. We started with a 3 mile recovery walk, took a little nap then visited 2 parks! I cherish the days that I feel successful as a Mom, ya know- the ones where you don’t call your spouse crying and your kid seems like an angel.
That’s when I decided Sunday was “Sonday” for me. I’m that annoying mother who takes too many photos of my kid playing. Then I immediately share it with everybody on social media. But JP is growing up so fast & these near perfect days are priceless.
My husband working was the only thing that kept our weekend from perfect. Soon enough (9 days exactly) we’ll be making memories all together as a family at Walt Disney World. If I thought playing with JP at our local park was fun, I can’t wait to play with him at Magic Kingdom! I know his first trip will be the best memories yet.
