Fall is quickly approaching and it’s my favorite running season! I love the leaves crunching under my feet as I run and the beautiful foliage. It’s also a great time to race in Atlanta. It’s perfect weather for seasoned runners to achieve a new PR and it’s forgiving to new runners who are racing for the first time.
One of Atlanta’s Halloween themed races returns for the 7th year this season- The Spooktacular Chase. This Smyrna race is fun for the whole family. They offer a 10k course (new for this year), 5k course and 1k option for the kids. Get dressed up in your best costume and chase their mascot, Seemore the owl, through historic Smyrna neighborhoods. Conquer the course’s notorious hills to celebrate the Fall season.
The Spooktacular Chase is also a certified Peachtree Road Race qualifier course!
The Spooktacular Chase benefits the Vision Rehabilitation Services of Georgia. Their mission is to assist individuals, of all ages, who are blind or visually impaired so they may function independently in all of their environments. VRS provides practical tools and proven techniques to help our clients carry out their daily activities.
After the race, runners can join supporters and volunteers for an after party at the finish line. I will be there running the 10k and my son will run the 1k so we can dress up in costume together.
Come run with us for Halloween!
