Running Universal Orlando 5k & 10k
Both Walt Disney World and SeaWorld Orlando have their own races throughout the theme parks, but runners have often wondered when Universal Orlando was going to join the fun!
It’s officially official now, because Running Universal just announced that they’ll host their first races in February 2020 – both a 5k and 10k distance race. Previously, you could only run through their Hollywood theme park. Now runners will have an opportunity to race through Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Orlando.

Running Universal Orlando Race Details
The race, which are being called the “Universal Epic Character Race 5K and 10K“, is scheduled Feb. 1 and 2 through both Orlando theme parks.
Participants will have the opportunity to run with their favorite characters while enjoying a Universal Orlando vacation. Runners will receive a medal, t-shirt and bib.
In the past, on the West Coast, the themes have been centered around Minions and Jurassic Park characters. I’m hoping they’ll announce a Harry Potter theme because it would be a HUGE hit!
Registration goes on sale October although Universal didn’t release the cost…. stay tuned.
