One of the things I love about Roswell GA restaurants is how they offer something new and exciting amongst an area that’s filled with history. The fast-pace restaurant scene of Roswell offers something for everyone. They’re constantly changing and updating. Local residents know how lucky they are to live in the area that has a chef-owned restaurant around every corner. However, if you’re visiting Roswell, here are the top 5 restaurants that should be on your dining bucket list.
While Canton Street might’ve been the OG of the Roswell dining explosion, there are so many more great destinations beyond the downtown area. East and West Roswell are divided by Georgia 400. Local Roswell residents haven’t done themselves any favors by letting the highway be the reason they stop exploring “the other half” in which they don’t live in. Do yourself a favor and dine on both spots of the highway. Roswell is much bigger than Canton Street and your taste buds will be missing out if that’s what limits your exploring.

My Picks: Top 5 Roswell GA Restaurants You Need To Try
How did I pick this list? Easily. I got to experience the best of Roswell GA restaurants at the Roswell Food & Beverage Festival. It brings the best together the best independent restaurants from all areas of the city. This year was the inaugural year for the festival and I already have it marked on my calendar to attend next October.
It’s a great way to sample culinary highlights from across the city and attending the festival will definitely put new restaurants on your radar. You can get 1:1 time with the city’s top chefs, experience tastings and even curated food seminars. As a self-proclaimed foodie, I really enjoyed experiencing Roswell’s diverse dining options all in one spot.
The Mill Kitchen and Bar
As the ultimate “Farm To Fork” experience, The Mill Kitchen and Bar has been a Roswell staple that serves modernized Southern cuisine. Their menu changes seasonly with the freshest crops, but guests can always expect vibrant flavors from Chef Flynn McClanahan. I highly recommend the Short Rib, which is served over three cheese grits and then topped with tobacco onions. It’s so tender that it melts in your mouth. Just wash it down with a craft bourbon cocktail.
Foundation Social Eatery
Roswell’s thriving restaurant community is built upon experienced chefs who brought their passion for fantastic food to the city. Foundation Social Eatery offers an extensive menu for dinner, lunch and brunch. Located on the west side of Roswell, Chef Mel Toledo serves modern bites in a casual setting. The French Toast Bread Pudding a decadent item on the brunch menu and probably one of the best ways to kick off your Sunday morning in Roswell.
Hugo’s Oyster Bar
What happens when the creativity of two seafood loving entrepreneurs come together? Some fabulous Roswell restaurants that are known as the city’s destinations for fresh seafood. Hugo’s Oyster Bar is the perfect low key spot to catch a football game, while enjoying one of their famous “Bushwacker” adult slushies and seafood that’s fresh from The Mississippi Delta region. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy their eclectic brunch menu and take advantage of the Bloody Mary Bar.
Sure, it’s easy to find biscuits in the South. Finding great biscuits that you’ll keep coming back for, is a much more tedious task. Fortunately, Roswell has some amazing biscuits at Gracious Plenty. Feel at home as you nosh on a custom order biscuit that’s made fresh in from their in-house bakery. Their menu items are sourced from local farmers and they pride themselves on quality over quantity. So make sure to arrive early for the weekend-only menu items. Once they’re gone, they’re gone!
I might be partial to this restaurant pick because it’s where we chose to celebrate our rehearsal dinner in 2011. Since then, it’s been a regular on our dining rotation. Bistro VG has a great relaxed atmosphere with a cool vibe that meshes together with contemporary French-inspired cuisine. They also offer an exclusive monthly High Tea event that’s so popular, it has it’s own waiting list.
