Pumpkin S’mores Ingredients:

  • Milk Chocolate Chips: They’re sweeter and add a richer flavor to s’mores.
  • Large Marshmallows: Use traditional large vanilla marshmallows.
  • Orange Sanding Sugar: Do NOT use sprinkles.
  • Cold Water: This helps the sanding sugar stick.
  • Green Ice Cream Cone*: They’re sold in multi-packs that have pink and traditional cones in them. Look in the ice cream section of your grocery store. I used the Joy brand of ice cream cones!
  • Dipping Options: Graham Cracker sticks or crackers, apples or vanilla wafers

* Can’t find green ice cream cake cones? That’s ok! Save a few large marshmallows and make a stem using green sanding sugar. Add them in a curved line, at the top of your pumpkin. It’s the perfect substitute if you can’t find the cones. Follow recipe directions.

How To Prep Your Pumpkin S’mores For A Party

It’s easy to prep this pumpkin s’mores before a party. Follow the recipe directions and layer the milk chocolate with the orange-dipped marshmallows. Set aside (not refrigerated) until right before your party. Follow the rest of the recipe directions for baking. Make it up to 2 hours ahead of time to prep for your party.

How To Reheat Your Dip & Store Leftovers

The magic of this s’mores dip is that you can reheat it! If the chocolate hardens, throw it back into a low-heat oven for 5-7 minutes. The s’mores will become melted again and it’s ready to enjoy. Obviously, you want to enjoy this dip within minutes of it coming out of the oven, but reheating it lets you enjoy it again.

Cover leftovers with plastic wrap and keep in a cooler room-temperature space. It doesn’t have to be refrigerated. Reheat in the oven, as directed above to eat again. Discard leftovers after 1-2 days.

Remove from the toothpick and place the white side down into the pan on top of the chocolate chips. Repeat until the pan is full of marshmallows and all of them are touching in the pan.

Lining up the marshmallows so that they fill the skillet

Bake for 8-10 minutes or until marshmallows are puffy. Remove from oven and if necessary, sprinkle additional sugar on the white areas of the marshmallows (as they puff up and expand when heated) and top with ice cream cone stem.

Pumpkin S'mores right out of the oven

Use a serrated bread knife to carefully cut a green ice cream cone in half, for the stem. A gentle sawing motion is best.
