I’m not sure how the crazy gnome trend got started, but suddenly they’re all over the place! If you haven’t seen the adorable viral Christmas Gnome Cookie Cups, you’re missing out!
I don’t think there’s a single holiday I’ve seen that doesn’t have gnome representation yet. The cute little men represent Christmas in such a fantasy way.
If you’re on a budget, a printable banner is the way to go. You only need a few materials and you can download the PDF, print and have your mantel banner ready in minutes. Hang it from the fireplace by itself, or add some Christmas stockings and garland to go with it!
That’s what I love the most about printables – you have the freedom to do what you want with them! Let your creativity flow as you decorate your mantle.

Using printables are really easy, but depending on the materials you use, they can look entirely different. Don’t skimp on the type of paper you use or the ink. The right materials will help the mantle banner last all throughout the holiday season without any issues.

Materials Needed:
- Heavy White Cardstock Paper
- Laser Printer With Ink
- Everyday Craft Scissors
- Twine or Ribbon
- Glue Stick
You can use twine or ribbon to hang it from the mantle. I have a cider mantel, so I use clear thumbtacks to stick it into the wood. I just hide the thumbtacks with garland. However, you could add a knot at the end to hang it up.

How To Put Your Gnome Banner Together For Christmas
Download the PDF link below. Save it to your computer, or bookmark with URL, if you want to use it again in the future. Pick the size banner you want – there’s a smaller one and larger one that uses an entire page for each banner piece.
Print it out in color ink. Cut out the pieces. For every piece of the banner, add another white card stock piece behind it (cut in the same shape). Use the glue stick to connect the pieces, and arrange them onto the twine in the positioning you want.
To center the banner, I like to leave plenty of twine on both sides. You can always cut it once it’s measured to your fireplace. Look at your “Merry Christmas” spacing before you officially glue anything down!
