Sunday Blue’s exist in our house. It’s when you realize the weekend is over and you have to start back to work. My Husband doesn’t work a traditional 9-5PM job, and we are finishing a 5 day weekend today. That means it’s back to reality for the Stroh household.
But I look at each Sunday as an opportunity to start the next week a little better. I refresh my health & fitness goals. If I over indulged a bit too much or skipped a workout (hey, I’m human), I put it behind me and move on. I’ve got a few Sunday traditions that I do religiously. These truly help me start the new week strong.
1- Fill Your Fridge
I aim to put as much color in our fridge as possible. If I have healthy items to choose from, It will help me make nutritious choices. I’ll toss last week’s leftovers & start over.
2-Meal Prep (a little)
I wish I could make gourmet meals for every night of the week, but I truly don’t have time. Instead, I’ll chop any fruits or vegetables so they are ready when I need them. If the time allows & I can cook, most of the ingredients are prepped.
3- Plan My Workouts
When I treat my workouts like planned appointments, I am much more commited to them. I don’t have a gym membership. I rely on myself for home workouts. That means it’s even more important to schedule them. I’ll mark my running mileage on a calendar alongside my crosstraining workouts.
4-Prep My Clothes
I’ll admit: I have a TON of workout clothes. But I wear my favorites each week. You know- those favorite black pants. Every Sunday, I’ll wash my workout gear and make sure it’s easily accessible. Then each night, I’ll lay my workout clothes out. When my alarm goes off and JP is pulling at my leg, I don’t have to think twice about what to wear.
