Moonshine is a southern tradition that runs deep in our family. There’s nothing better than sitting on the porch, just sipping some shine and letting your worries wash away. Make a big batch of this Fresh Peach Moonshine recipe that’s brewed with sliced peaches, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks and peach puree. It’s deliciously smooth and sweet – perfect for sipping. I love making a big batch for summer parties and neighborhood gatherings.
Moonshine has become popular, thanks to the growing list of country songs that talk about the popular southern drink. You can even buy flavored moonshine in the liquor store nowadays, but you’re not getting much for the price. Making your own homemade moonshine gives you a larger batch for a fraction of the price.
One of my most popular recipes on this site is my Homemade Strawberry Lemonade Moonshine. That’s the first one my Husband brewed and our neighbors loved it so much – they ask for it every year. Then, we added our fall version, which is the Apple Pie Moonshine that’s bursting with autumn flavor. This peach is the summer version.
Living in Georgia and picking an abundance of peaches at the farm, means that we’re always looking for ways to use them. Since moonshine recipe calls for sliced peaches and puree, you’ll easily burn through a bushel of peaches! I also add a few slices for garnish at the end.
How To Make Homemade Peach Moonshine
For this moonshine recipe, you’ll be brewing it over the stovetop. I like to use a large stockpot to ensure you’ve got plenty of room for all the liquid (and you won’t splash as much). You don’t need to use any twine or cheese cloth. The cinnamon sticks and sliced peaches can be pulled out of the moonshine and tossed easily since they’re larger. They just add flavor to the brew.
When To Serve Peach Moonshine
This cocktail just screams summertime. Serve it for a pool party, wedding shower or reception and any other larger gathering. If you make it and don’t have a party, just can what you don’t use and enjoy later. Since it makes so much, you can always divide the recipe in half too. I give out moonshine to my neighbors!
How Long Peach Moonshine Stays Fresh
With the high alcohol content, the moonshine will stay fresh for up to a year in mason jars. Keep it in the refrigerator and just shake before pouring to enjoy again. Do not freeze the moonshine – just refrigerate instead. Add fresh peaches to garnish when you serve it.
Using Fresh Peach Puree vs. Canned
Hands down, fresh puree makes all the difference in cocktail recipes. Buy some extra peaches, since you need fresh peaches anyways, and make your own homemade peach puree. My peach puree recipe is easy to make and you can freeze it for later use, if you want to make more peach moonshine OR any other recipes that use peach puree. It’s worth making some yourself!
