I thought I’d share some of my recent adventures in Motherhood with you. I mention JP often in my blog, but this is his first official post! I’m certain he’ll cringe from reading my blog when he’s old enough–oh well!
So lately he is in full blown toddler mode. He is 18 months going on 13 it seems like. He is at a beautifully tough stage of life where independence and curiosity rules his day, but snuggles and a bottle take over by night. My friend Kierstn wisely assured me that every stage has it’s ups & downs. Kierstn manages 3 kids like a pro, so I grasp at any advice she can give me.
But if I don’t laugh about the toddler stage, I cry. So join me in a few laughs while I take you through his latest adventures:
Everything has become a jungle gym to him! He’s testing his physical strength every day and it amazes me. He can open doors, climb his crib and give Mommy a heart attack– simultaneously.
He has become a little sponge for new words while his imagination develops with every hour of play.
He is quick to grab ANYTHING he isn’t supposed to. Everything from food, soda, lotions to potions are what he sneaks.
But I adore the fact that he’s still my baby every single night. He still let’s me rock him & cuddle him. I kiss his sweet forehead every night and tell him how much we love him.
As I write this blog post, his head is on my shoulder and he is napping. I know he’ll wake up soon and become my little trouble maker again, but that helps me savor these precious baby moments even more.
Eventually I want to make him an older brother, but right now I love our family dynamic. I love how my husband and I can give him so much attention. Each day of toddlerhood is quite the adventure.
