Summer 2017 will be the summer of thrills for Atlanta families! I had the chance to visit Six Flags Over Georgia to experience their latest ride, Justice League: Battle for Metropolis. If you’re looking for an experience that the whole family will enjoy – Six Flags Over Georgia has you covered.
Did you know that Six Flags Over Georgia is one of three DC themed theme parks in the world? The DC comics that we grew up with come to life in the new Justice League ride. Located in an all new themed area of the park, the ride sits in a 22,000 square foot building. It’s the perfect quick escape from the Georgia heat.
The ride was created for the entire family, as you sit in a vehicle and battle DC super villains through 11 high-intensity scenes, with 3D glasses. Each member in the vehicle gets a laser gun to shoot at the “bad guys” as you score points. There are over 600 targets to shoot within the ride, as you drive through 4D effects. I’m not great at targeting anything – but I didn’t do so bad. The fire, wind, gas and fog made the ride so much fun. The life-like animatronics of the ride are a great park addition for Six Flags Over Georgia.
I can’t say this ride is for the little ones, as they have a 42 inch heigh restriction. Grade school kids on up will have fun battling the villains and seeing who scored better. At the end of the ride, they announce who scored the most points – perfect for siblings.
Located in the same area of the park, guests can grab a bite to eat at the renovated metropolis food court or play games. My friend Amy, from Mom’s Magical Miles, has the inside scoop on the Six Flag’s Dining Pass.
If you’ve got little ones, like me, don’t forget to check out the DC Super Friends area. It has perfect options for kids who want just as much thrill, but don’t meet the height requirements of Justice League.
