Get ready to learn, from the inside out, in an interactive way at the Fernbank Museum in Atlanta. UCB, a global biopharmaceutical company based in Atlanta, has partnered with Fernbank Museum of Natural History to present a new exhibit, The Secret World Inside You, on view now through May 6, 2018. The Fernbank Museum exhibit has made its way to Atlanta from NYC due to local support for science education provided by UCB, a company focused on transforming the lives of people living with severe diseases across neurology, immunology and bone health.
New Fernbank Museum Exhibit: The Secret World Inside You
Crawling on your skin, swimming in your gut, and traveling through your intestines are over 100 trillion teeny, tiny microbes. In fact, there are more microbes in and on your body than stars in the Milky Way.
Meet your microbiome, the community of microbes that keep your immune system, digestive system and brain working properly. Using larger-than-life models, videos, interactive experiences, unique games, and immersive displays, discover what and where these microbes are, how they help us, how we sometimes disrupt them, and how we can work with them to make our lives better than ever.
The exhibit allows visitors to discover the trillions of microbes within our bodies through larger-than-life installations and interactive activities. As a local leader in the health space, UCB hopes to promote the continued understanding and appreciation for the sciences at all ages in a fun and interactive way. UCB is committed to helping Atlanta grow its science scene and is doing its part as the largest biopharma company with a headquarters in the area.
