Last year, Disney made plenty of announcements to keep us excited about 2017. Now that the new year is upon us, we can finally see some of the fantastic park developments and changes come to fruition. I can really see the updates and progress happening around Disney World right now. It’ll be an exciting year to visit and check out the new 2017 Walt Disney World experiences.
New 2017 Walt Disney World Experiences
Festival of the Arts at Epcot
Happening right now, the inaugural Festival of the Arts has been a pleasant surprise for WDW guests. It’s held each weekend Fri-Mon Jan 13th to Feb 20th and features new art each week. So each weekend is original! Guests can experience broadway talent, watch Disney artists create, taste culinary art and immerse themselves into hands-on experiences for the whole family.
Pandora- The World of Avatar
Opening in May of 2017, the mythical land of Pandora will come to life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park. Inspired the movie Avatar, the land will feature a magical, mythical world of floating mountains, bioluminescent rainforests and soaring Banshees.
More at Disney Springs
Disney Springs has become such a hot spot for shopping, dining and entertainment. The area is at the tail end of a multi-year expansion and update. The final phase will include 4 new restaurants, including Planet Hollywood Observatory which features dishes from Guy Fieri. With over 150 venues, Disney Springs has something for everyone.
New Welcome Show at Magic Kingdom
Guests can now stroll up Main Street at wait for the park to officially open and watch the new welcome show, Royal Herald. It’s a fun way to start your day with everyone’s favorite characters.
Star Wars Ultimate Tour
This 7-hr experience takes guests through all current Star Wars experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Character greetings, themed dining, ride experiences, insider’s tours, dessert party and VIP viewing of Star Wars: a Galactic Spectacular are among offerings. Star Wars-themed lands are planned for Walt Disney World Resort too.
I can’t wait to experience some of these new offerings. Guests can expect long lines at these new experiences. It’s best to save time where you can on your park itinerary and avoid the crowds with the tools that Disney offers.
