I’m going to share how you can turn this into a make-ahead dessert for entertaining, plus the tricks to make sure you’ve got an A-game presentation happening.
What To Serve With These Mini Apple Pie Trifle Desserts
You don’t need to go crazy with extra sides. Make a fresh pot of coffee and serve it with a dessert spoon. That’ it! You don’t need to add ice cream or whipped topping because it’s a stand alone dessert.
How To Make Your Trifles Look Amazing
Since these Mini Apple Pie Trifle desserts are all about presentation, you’ll need a few tips and tricks to really get the job done. I serve mine in small mason jar glasses. However, you could make them even smaller with shot glasses too. Here are some things to consider:
- Layer with a small spoon to keep it easy to maneuver
- For the whipped cream cheese layer: try a piping bag by placing the filling into large freezer bags and cutting a sliver in the corner.
- Use a clean paper towel to wipe any excess that gets on the side of the glass while layering. You want to clearly see the layers!
How To Store Leftover Trifles
Here’s what is awesome about these being a single serving dessert – you can just place plastic wrap over the top, on each individual dessert, and store leftovers in the refrigerator. You’re also not going to have a ton of leftovers, if any at all, because you can make the perfect amount you need as a single serving. One per each guest.

How To Make These Mini Apple Pie Trifles As A Single Serving Dessert
Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large saute pan, heat 3 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Add sliced apples, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon.
Sauté apples for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, just until apples are warmed through and butter and brown sugar have come together. You’ll have a golden, caramel-like sauce. Remove from heat and let apple mixture cool completely.
Add graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and pinch of salt to a small bowl. Mix just until combined and then spread graham crackers on a baking sheet.
Bake graham cracker crumbs for 7-10 minutes in preheated oven until golden and edges are just starting to brown. Remove from heat and cool completely.
In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, 1 cup granulated sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in whipped cream.
To assemble your mini apple pie trifle dessert: Start with a layer of graham crackers. Spread evenly on base of each jar. Then spread a layer of cream cheese mixture. Next, top with apples.
