Baby Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit Review | Giveaway

Disclosure: I received a Baby Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit because I wanted to try it in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links as well.

Being a new mom, the second time around, has been much harder than I remember. I take care of my toddler and my 4-month old all day long. We’ve been struggling with consistent sleep, at night, with my infant. We’re at the stage where he’s starting to roll and we can’t swaddle him, but he whacks himself in the face without it. It’s kinda funny, until I can’t get him to sleep longer than 20 minute stretches.

I forgot how tiring the first year is and taking care of two makes it even harder. I’ve been scouring the internet to look for tips and solutions to help us out. I came across Baby Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit through some of my Facebook Mommy groups and couldn’t wait to give it a try.

How Baby Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit Works

Created by a pediatric physical therapist, the innovative and patented design was invented for babies transitioning, from the swaddle, but still need that secure feeling to sleep soundly. It’s designed for babies sleeping alone, in their crib, and on their back. The Magic Sleepsuit provides babies with the comfort they need by helping to muffle their twitches and startle-type movements that can wake them prematurely, and by keeping them cozy and secure making it easier to go to sleep on their own or fall back asleep if woken. It is designed to help with baby’s sleep patterns, but also gives the parents and/or caregivers peace of mind that their baby is getting adequate rest necessary for appropriate growth and development.

How it Worked for Us

Since we were transitioning from swaddling and the rock-n-play, nothing could’ve been more unfamiliar to my son than the crib. He was also going to be sleeping in his own room versus beside my bed. One of my biggest concerns was his new found love to roll over. Since Pediatricians recommend that infant’s sleep on their back to reduce SIDS, I was concerned he’d roll in his sleep when he’s too weak to flip back over.

The customer service team at Baby Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit was amazing. They helped me find the right fit for his size and guide me through the proper use instructions. I immediately noticed the softness and quality of the sleepsuit. The first night he wore it,  he wasn’t flipping over. He stayed comfortable on his back.

I followed our usual bedtime routine of a bath and bottle before placing him in the crib. I didn’t rock him for an endless amount of time (been there done that with my firstborn). After a few minutes of soft whimpering, he put himself to sleep. Unlike before, HE STAYED ASLEEP. I wasn’t running back into his room every two minutes. I truly believe it muffled his movement so he couldn’t whack himself.

After Continued Usage

After several weeks, he was only waking up once in the night. This was a vast improvement from every few hours that we had been experiencing prior. If you’re looking for a miracle, there isn’t one. Babies are programmed to wake you up because they need you. I’m sure he’ll start waking up again when his teeth start to come in. Using the Magic Sleepsuit was a huge improvement for us. I’m going to keep it in our nightly routine because it’s working for us. He’s sleeping for longer stretches and I have less to worry about at night.
