Mazda CX-9 | Why Moms Will Love the 2017 Mazda CX-9

I’ve never been a car person, but I’ve fallen in love with the 2017 Mazda CX-9. The CX-9 fit seamlessly into my life, as a busy Mom, and I never expected it to. At first glance, it may appear to be “another crossover” vehicle. But Mazda outdid themselves with the new 2017 CX-9 and it’s everything I needed for my Mom life.2017 Mazda CX-9 Review, Mazda, Crossover Mazda CX-9, 2017 CX-9

Disclosure: I was given this vehicle to borrow, but all opinions are my own.

I’m in that stage of my life where cracker crumbs and toy dinosaurs disappear into the dark abyss of any car I drive and the stench of forgotten bottles replaces “new car smell.”  Yet, I can still remember the fun of owning a vehicle that excited me to my inner core. Finding a car that can tackle my children’s needs plus give me some credibility as still being hip is quite the challenge.

Surprisingly, the new 2017 Mazda CX-9 is the first vehicle to achieve that. I’ve driven their CX-5 and thought it was nice, but it wasn’t exhilarating.

At first glance, the CX-9 may look like your typical crossover, but it’s quick to fool you from the exterior. You immediately open the door to a well appointed collection of features that is included in the sticker price. That’s where Mazda teases you for more.

4 Features That Moms Will Love About the 2017 Mazda CX-9

The Unexpected Amount of Space

This is a crossover vehicle, but that doesn’t mean it can’t compete with the spaciousness of a minivan. It comfortably seats 7 people and leaves plenty of leg room for back seat passengers. The back seats also adjust forward or back to provide a relaxing space for each individual.

The Touch of Class

The attention to detail; in such a luxurious fashion, was highly unexpected for me. The interior is a combination of shiny piano black, auburn leather, and rosewood trim. They also stuck USB ports in the front center console and rear center console, along with outlets. Us moms may not need those features, but they fit nicely with my overpriced coffee.

The Attention to Safety

The driver’s view might feel like a mystery at first. It has a large quantity of buttons and options at your fingertips, but after settling in and driving around, you’ll realize that Mazda put safety first. The Smart City Brake Support, Active Driving Display and the Lane-keep Assist systems support the driver and gives you sense of ease. I hope I never have to use some of the safety features that they included, but I know if my child distracts me and someone stops short in front of me, the car will detect that.

Your speed and navigation display is projected through the windshield so you never have to take your eyes off the road.

The MomLife Test

I’m not taking my car on long commutes each week. I need a vehicle that can be my workhorse and get me around the city for all of my errands. The Mazda CX-9 has modular components that allows you to transform the car for your daily needs. The back seats fold down completely, there is hidden storage under the trunk’s floorboard, and a powered lift gate. I can have my hands full and still maneuver around with simple touches.

It’s clear that Mazda put a lot of thought and planning into the CX-9 this year. There was so much attention to detail and it really works so well with my family. Need to see it in action? Watch my video below and take a tour of the vehicle yourself. You’ll see why the CX-9 is top of it’s class and can’t be beat.

This looks like a very roomy SUV. I will definitely be getting a SUV for my next car because I want something that feels safer and can tote around more kids.
