During the summer months, our family is always in the water. We love traveling to beach destinations and family resorts with great pools. One of our biggest concerns has been how we’re going to keep our kids safe around the water, while instilling confidence around the water. Our secret tool is the SwimWays Swim Trainer – we never leave home without it!
Celebrate International Learn to Swim Day on May 18, 2019 by renewing your family’s dedication to water safety. Summer is all about having fun, but safety always comes first. Teaching our boys to feel confident and strong in the water has really improved our time together in the water.
How SwimWays Helps Kids Feel Confident
My oldest has been in swim lessons since he was 18 months old. He’s great with an instructor! Now that he’s five, he’s starting to push him limits by jumping in the water. It’s different when we’re traveling or not in swim lessons.
With two kids, I have to divide my attention between the two of them. When he wears his SwimWays Swim Trainer, we both feel comfortable if he wants to play on his own. It offers just enough floatation to give him the buoyancy to float. Since we spend hours in the pool, it’s especially great as he gets more tired.
It makes my heart happy to see that he can enjoy the water and feel comfortable. He loves to show me how he can hold is breath under the water or jump in from the side.
Celebrate International Learn To Swim Day
In 2012, National Learn to Swim Day was founded by SwimWays and it is dedicated to educating parents and children about water safety, plus the benefits of learning how to swim. New this year, SwimWays Corporation has extended this event to include international locations, and thus changing the name to International Learn To Swim Day.
This year, SwimWays is teaming up with the characters from Paw Patrol will help celebrate during International Learn To Swim Day events around the world. My son loved rocking his Paw Patrol Swim Trainer, which is step 2 in the SwimWays Swim Step Program.
We’re celebrating by enjoying a day at the pool, as a family, and discussing water safety with our kids. As pools open across the U.S. in May, it’s an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of water safety and teaching children to swim. SwimWays invites parents and caregivers internationally to celebrate in their own way.
