Tips For Making Instant Pot Mexican Pizza
What I love about this recipe is, of course, the quick cooking method. The Instant Pot has taken kitchens by storm, and the pressure cooker method of cooking produces dinner in far less time than the traditional oven method of cooking. If you’ve never used an Instant Pot before, don’t stress! Just follow the recipe settings, and your pizzas will turn out amazing.
Tips For Using An Instant Pot
No doubt, pressure cooking can be daunting if you’ve never done it before. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll be pumping out tasty, easy meals in no time. Here are a few basic tips that you should know if you’ve never used an Instant Pot before:
- The steam that is released from the Instant Pot is extremely hot. Be careful not to put any body parts in the path of the steam.
- Replace the sealing ring on your Instant Pot regularly.
- The sealing ring on an Instant Pot is made from silicone, which is ideally suited to the purpose because it’s heat resistant and flexible. Replace it regularly to ensure the seal is secure.
How Many Pizzas Does This Recipe Make?
You’ll make 7-inch pizza in the Instant Pot. However, you can double or triple the recipe by prepping all of the ingredients. Each pizza takes 8 minutes to cook, so you can easily cook several for dinnertime. My kids will split a pizza while my Husband and I enjoy our own!
What To Serve With Instant Pot Mexican Pizza
I love to have all the toppings available for my family to customize their Mexican Pizzas. Sour cream, chopped onion, lettuce, avocado, taco sauce, and tomato are just a few of my favorites. Everyone can enjoy their own spin on Mexican Pizza. If you want even more sides, I love making Mexican Rice or Mexican Sweet Corn Cake. They’re delicious side options that are perfect with your pizzas!
How To Store Leftovers
Transfer any leftovers to an airtight food storage container. Refrigerate any leftovers. For the best freshness, enjoy the Mexican Pizzas for 4-5 days after cooking. I reheat my pizzas in individual portions in the microwave. It just makes it super easy! Add more fresh toppings after you reheat the pizza.
Can You Freeze Leftover Mexican Pizza?
Yes! These Mexican Pizzas freeze well, however the flour tortillas won’t stay as crispy as they once were. Freeze them for up to three months. Keep the pizzas towards the back of the freezer where temperatures are more stable. Let them thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
