When I am at a party, you can always find me near the dips! I just gravitate towards chip and dips because it’s such a comfort food to me. If you are menu planning for an upcoming party, you’re going to love this Slow Cooker Artichoke Dip Recipe (aka Crock Pot Artichoke Dip). It’s so easy to make because you throw everything into your Crock Pot and forget about it. It’s creamy, hot and delicious – everyone loves it.
I love using my slow cooker because it’s so easy to dump ingredients into it and let it do it’s thing. In the end you’re going to get the ultimate creamy comfort food dip. This one just has artichokes, seasoning and cheeses. Sometimes, in my opinion, spinach can overpower artichoke. So this is the best artichoke dip appetizer – sans spinach.
Making this hot dip, for a party, can’t get any easier because it just melts and cooks together then you just stir right before serving. I’ll make it for Super Bowl parties and tailgating. People love the omission of spinach and just the creamy artichokes. They’re a richer flavor and so delicious with all of the melty cheese!
How To Make Slow Cooker Artichoke Dip (Crock Pot Artichoke Dip)
Anyone can make this dip recipe – it’s literally the easiest thing ever. Just dumping everything into the slow cooker and let the magic happen. Set the cooker and forget about it until you’re ready to eat it. You’ll want a fairly large slow cooker because it makes 5 cups total. I estimate that each person will enjoy about 1/4 cup, so the dip has about 20 servings total.
What To Serve With Slow Cooker Artichoke Dip
You’ll want a big serving bowl and serve it immediately, so it stays hot. You can even keep it in the slow cooker if you’d like. Wondering what to use as dippers? Here are my favorite ideas:
- Sliced French Bread
- Tortilla Chips
- Flour Tortillas
- Pretzels
Sometimes, I’ll put a bottle of hot sauce out. It’s a complimentary flavor and I’ve even had guests go back and forth between soaking up the hot sauce with their bread and the dip! I like Tabasco Sauce to serve and it’s just a nice option to have if someone wants to add some heat.
What To Do With Your Leftover Slow Cooker Artichoke Dip
Unfortunately, you can’t freeze this dip. Once you’ve finished, and have leftovers, I just add them to the refrigerator with plastic wrap over the top. You can use the microwave, on high, to re-heat any leftovers and stir to combine.
Recipe Substitutions:
You can play with any nutty flavor of cheese that you prefer. Feel free to swap out the cheeses. You can also boil fresh artichoke hearts if you like that instead of canned, but it takes up more time! There’s something so easy about chopping up the canned artichoke hearts and dumping them into the Crock Pot.
