Why We Love Moonshine In The South
I can’t take the credit for this delicious drink recipe. My Husband is a moonshine connoisseur and grew up in the south. There’s a rich history of moonshine running in the south and it’s almost like part of our culture in the south. After all, it’s what inspired the start of NASCAR too. You can find moonshine cocktails in many southern restaurants as well.
Every fall, after apple picking, he’s in the kitchen making a big batch of this Apple Pie Moonshine recipe. We pass some out to the neighbors, as gifts, and keep a jars for ourselves. He makes the ‘shine and I just wrap the bow around it.
If you want to pair it, as a cocktail alongside a meal, I like the idea of serving it with a fall pork roast. Or if you’d like to serve it as a dessert, pair it with traditional campfire s’mores.
