You don’t have to be a kid to love the magic of Harry Potter. I grew up reading Harry Potter when the first book was released and now I’ve introduced my oldest son to the beloved books. After seeing the stories come to life at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Orlando, I knew I had to find a way to take the magic home. This Copycat Harry Potter Pumpkin Juice recipe tastes just like the juice they sell in the parks! It’s easy to throw together, perfect for fall and it just beckons for a cozy corner and your favorite Potter book.
The first time I went to Universal Studios to experience the Wizarding World, I was blown away by all of the likeness. The engineers did an amazing job working alongside J.K. Rowling to put together the immersive park experience.
If you go to one of the quick service restaurants, you’ll notice that you can’t order sodas. They kept the food service as true to the books as possible. You have two choices – Butterbeer or Pumpkin Juice!
This Harry Potter Pumpkin Juice is my go to for the fall season and the kids love it. You don’t have to enjoy the movies to sip on this sweet pumpkin concoction. Serve it for a movie night, trick-or-treating or any Halloween party!

So what is Pumpkin Juice? It’s a blended non-alcoholic drink that has an apple cider base. It’s sweet and savory. It definitely has a true pumpkin flavor, so you want to be a fan of pumpkin before trying it. My son loves it because of the sweetness.
All you need for this recipe is a large serving spoon and a glass serving pitcher (or any large pitcher of your choice). I prefer to use my kitchen blender, but you can vigorously mix everything by hand if you don’t own a blender.
When To Serve Pumpkin Juice
This would be an amazing recipe for a Halloween party. It’s slightly too sweet to serve with Thanksgiving dinner, but it would be fun as a themed pumpkin breakfast idea on the morning of.
We also love to enjoy it on a crisp fall night, around the fire. I make a Whiskey Apple Cider Punch recipe for the adults and the pumpkin juice recipe for the kids. It’s the perfect way to use apple cider in both recipes.
If you’re looking for even more Harry Potter goodness, try making the pumpkin juice alongside my easy Butterbeer Mug Cake recipe. It’s the perfect single serving and the kids can make both of the recipes by themselves too.
How To Make Your Pumpkin Juice Before A Party
I love the pumpkin juice when it’s chilled. Make it a few hours before a party and let it chill in the refrigerator. Sometimes the juice can settle a bit, so give it a good stir again before serving. Serve it over ice and if you’re feeling fancy, pop a cinnamon stick into the drink!
How Much Pumpkin Juice Should I Serve For A Party?
I like to calculate that every guest should have two glasses. The recipe makes 4 quarts, which is 128 ounces. If each guest consumes about 8 ounces of the pumpkin juice, this recipe will serve 16 guests (enjoying 1 8oz cup each). Double the recipe if you need more!
What You Need To Make Harry Potter Pumpkin Juice:
- 1 jug of fresh apple cider (4 quarts)
- can of pumpkin
- vanilla
- brown sugar
- granulated sugar
- pumpkin spice
- blender for blending the ingredients

How Long Does Harry Potter Pumpkin Juice Leftovers Last?
Once you make your juice, you want to keep any leftovers in the refrigerator. I keep our pumpkin juice in the a glass pitcher, in the refrigerator. It will last about 2-3 days after you make it. You don’t want to keep it past 3 days because it will turn bad on the top. Typically, making one pitcher will serve about 5-6 people and we won’t have any leftovers. You can not freeze pumpkin juice.
