Happy Father’s Day to all of the awesome Dads out there! But a special Happy Daddy Day to the best Dads I know– my Husband and my own Dad.
My Husband, Joe, spent the weekend doing one of the most Fatherly things I know: building a toy for his kid. I watched him build a Power Wheels Jeep for JP as a labor of love, in the heat.
Joe’s gift to himself will be watching JP’s reaction to it on Father’s Day morning.
Watching Joe grow as a Father has been so special to me. He quickly adapts to JP’s stages of life and provides all of the love and support for family. I always knew he’d be an amazing Dad, long before he knew he’d be one.
Of course, I knew that from my own Dad’s example. My Dad has always been supportive of my siblings and I. He’s a natural teacher and the rock of my family while growing up. Parkinson’s disease has robbed him of his talents, but he’ll always be my amazing Dad and JP’s Pop Pop.
I can’t imagine my life without the men who take care of JP and I. I’d be lost as a Mother and incomplete as a Daughter.
To say I’m feeling blessed this weekend is an understatement. I love the Dads in my life. I want to celebrate them today, on Father’s Day, but appreciate them everyday.
