New Year Goals: Exercise Consistency Motivation

I’ve always been a “go big or go home” type gal and it applies to all areas of my life. Sometimes that manta is great, but other times it causes burnout. With the new year, I’m thinking about my fitness goals and getting a fresh start. I want to FINALLY find my exercise consistency motivation.
My thirties are entirely different than my twenties. Gone are the days of taking a few weeks off from exercise and then jumping back into it. Now, that just puts me at risk for injury.
Finding My Exercise Consistency Motivation
As a marathoner, I have a bad habit of training hard for a race then taking time off afterwards. In the grand scheme of things, it’s doing more harm than good. For 2019, I want to cut back the mileage, be consistent with my workouts and add more cross-training.
The Tools I Need To Be Consistent
There are several things I’m going to depend on for this year’s fitness journey. I’m going to need support from friends, access to equipment and flexible gym hours, all while sticking to our family’s budget. Putting in some thought and planning will help me stay on track.
No matter what your personal fitness goals are the new year, you’re going to need a plan of action. For me, that means finding a gym, reaching out to others for support and sticking to that plan.
